Roll Call: East Tennessee

I used to get 1-2x a year through a work tourney and random guest fee. They upped their guest prices pretty high so its a tougher pill to swallow but maybe once a year. If I had the time bandwidth and lived on that side of town, HH would be a no brainer for the club to join cause the course is that good.

The guest fee isn’t terrible at $120 for weekends. On the high side for sure but you can play plenty of way worse courses in the southeast for that price.

Compared to when it was like 60ish-80ish around 2018-2021…it was an unreal steal of a play. Definitely not terrible for the value compared to prices at some other spots though.

Hi all, new to the refuge. I’m from Athens, TN, but I now live in Nashville. Just wanted to join the thread as I have plenty of golf buddies in east TN.

Welcome! There’s a pretty big contingent of folks in the Nashville area belonging to the High Cotton Club roost. Come to the Extinction at Park Mammoth a month from now!

Sorry if you see me spamming this, but we’d like to have 8 people for this

Anyone here know somewhere decent public to play north of Knoxville? My family is at Lake Norris and we’re looking to duck away to play this week

Deerfield Resort seems decent and is only $55 for a weekday round. I don’t know how good it is firsthand, but it’s in that area around Norris.

If you’re staying on the south side of Norris, 3 Ridges is probably the closest public and is a decent public track. Has some quirk to it, but it plays fair. Gets a lot of public play though, like some of the most in Knox County, so you may want to call ahead about availability.

Thanks. We played Deerfield Sunday. It was a fun layout, don’t play a lot of mountain golf so it was a nice change of pace. We’ll maybe take a look at Ridges

If you wanna get really out of your way, I’m down in Sevierville and would be happy to host you tomorrow

Woodlake is a solid play and wouldn’t be all that far from you.

Enjoy! Let me know if you get to #7 in two. That’s a hell of a shot if so!

It was wet yesterday, but still very playable. There is some fairway winter kill too, but way improved over a month ago.

I know the guy who owns woodlake, it’s a killer track.

We can’t do it from the golds…I’ve only done it once in the 4 years I have played there and the wind was HOWLING behind me.

Happy to report back that we had a nice morning at 3 Ridges. We stunk but that was user error. Course was in decent shape and some fun holes and shots. Great value as well <$50

Thanks again for the recommendations from everyone.
