Both of these get me very interested. 180 yards would make it easily the biggest putting green in CO I would assume.
It will be up there in TPC territory for costs. Pretty much the same model as TPC and Pelican Lakes with memberships, but still allowing some public play if you’re willing to pay the price. They likely won’t have any problems filling the membership either given how successful TPC has been. I bet it’s cart path only for at least the first year though. It will be very tough to have fast and firm fescue fairways surviving in summer with carts all over them. They’re either going to have to limit cart traffic or soak it and no longer have fast and firm late June through August.
And yes 180 yards would be biggest. Ballyneal commons is 117 yards end to end. Although if they do a 180 yard tame putting green that will be a wasted effort. Hopefully Fred didn’t stop them from getting wild on the putting green.
I mean, it’s only one green and it’s a rendering, but this looks plenty interesting, though also borderline unplayable if the tier with the flag slopes as hard back towards the pond as it appears, so have to imagine it will be tamed down a bit in final form.
That patch of rough by the pond will stop the ball regardless. Funk has said many times he hates shots where you hit the green and then get screwed.
If anyone wants to play some mediocre parkland golf in Aravada, I have a twosome at 1:20 at Indian Tree on Wednesday.
Anyone planning to play Thursday? I’ll be heading down to Denver Wed. evening and would love to play CG or somewhere Thursday
edit: playing Hyland Hills with the father-in-law and some of his friends - hoot!
Have an extra spot at Commonground on Thursday 11AM any takers?
I’lll take it if it’s still available!
In perhaps the upset of the year, two new fathers tossing professional and family responsibilities to the side to tee it up mere hours before Christmas Eve. How’s that for perspective?
Gotta take advantage of having family in town…
I need to swap families.
Even swap or how much will I need to throw in on top to sweeten the deal?
awesome, see you tomorrow
