DC’s is the cleanest, NYC is the best, which is damning of the whole country. DC’s is probably a touch better than Chicago (larger ridership and cleaner) but the Metra and bus system more than makes up for the difference.
But it’s not just public transit, street design, density, green space, pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, and mostly, the lack of cars is really eye opening. It’s quiet, safe, and low stress to get around the cities. Don’t get me wrong, Chicago is way better designed than most American cities, only NYC and Boston can also claim best designed cities in the US imo. It’s a big reason why I live here. But fuuuuuuck do we suck compared to Europe (no disrespect to east Asian megalopolises, just haven’t been).

I mean, it’s beautiful, but I swear every time I play there I come out wondering why I played there

I like Thawk once a year. It’s challenging, pretty, but agree there’s some weird holes. Whatever they’re asking peak season is also too much compared to SC however.

Keep thinking about giving Thunderhawk a shot but then always decide on Brae Loch or Countryside for Lake County Preserve Golf. Is it that drastically different?
Yes, for sure.
It’s an amazing property. Forest preserve and Audubon society keep really pretty.
Just a few holes that are not fun at all for me.
