Roll Call “Chicago” (Part 2)

Have always been unsure of my true opinion on the Den. Not sure I’d call it awful but it’s definitely not my favorite (personally share the Weibring sentiment with @tchap80). Den has some bad holes but is unique enough for the area that I wouldn’t say I disliked playing there.

CC Peoria is fine. Would play again but definitely prefer Mount Hawley.

Wolf Creek rocks. Both the new and the old nine at El paso I thought were terrible. Rest of the list other than K. Elks can take it or leave it

The Den > Weibring

Tentative dates are Saturday 10/4 or 10/11. I’ll email after the holidays to get a tee time block. Game TBD but scoring will be done via trifold poster (CC: @rjsau98).

Whats crazy is in four years playing golf for Bradley, we never once played Mt Hawley. CCofP was one of our home courses so I like to play there when back.

That’s the thing, most things carry nostalgia from teen and college years and I’m not going to apologize. I don’t think there is a course on that list where I didn’t face a putt for my dinner money (but in reality, likely only one course (outside K Elks) I’ll ever play again.

Oh, add Morris CC, it’s perfectly awful or awfully perfect as well!

Wait, the 2CGC 5th anniversary or Ravines’ 5th anniversary?

5years of @EConroy419 planning an event there. Some say it was the first Chicago refuge event

I wish. I’m maintaining my dual citizenship though.

The people of Omaha have a fraction of the desire to play golf below 60 degrees and it’s sad.

Anyone going to Illinois v NW at Wrigley on Sat? Or anyone been to football in Wrigley before? Trying to understand what sections to target to buy tickets

I’ll be taking my 12 yo, but haven’t bought tickets yet. The oldest and wife looked at the forecast and opted for shopping.

I assume first rows of upper deck on first base line will be the best seats in the house for viewing, but also cold with a North Wind.

Will be there. I’d suggest tickets down the third base line, or short down the first base line. I think the cheapest option will be left field, but the action will be so far away from those seats

Thanks both! Most of my group just did this and are opting out

Not sure if I can swing it or not, but I’ve heard from friends based on past Wrigley games that the upper deck is the way to go - even if you’re in the end zone. The slope of the seats in the lower bowl provides some bad viewing angles supposedly.

1000% go upper deck if you do go. First 10-15 rows on the sideline won’t see anything since they are putting a team on that side for the first time this year.
