Just a suggestion:
It would be interesting to see which courses are just everyone’s most played for the year. So ask which courses are the top rated for each person, but also which course you played the most rounds at. I play a ton of rounds at some ok courses bc of price and location. I rarely play the courses that i treated as the best bc of price.
No Bolingbrook?
Hey Guis:
Long story short - I’m jumping into a charity race for St. Jude in honor of my nephew Jacob. He’s been battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia since last May, and the little dude has been a trooper.
Initially we were told he would be handling treatment for at least 2 years…
But thanks to children’s hospitals like St. Jude, he’s not only ahead of schedule…but he’s on pace to make it to our wedding at Bull Valley in December.
I know this is last minute - but if y’all have a couple bucks to spare I would GREATLY appreciate your donation to our team. I’ll be posting race updates on Saturday on Instagram (TCRBrad). I haven’t run a 10k since 2019…so this should be PRETTY interesting…
If Jacob can fight through chemo - my flabby-ass can fight through a run.
Let me know if you have questions or need other info, and thanks again for letting me post here.
Cheers. Craic on.
EDIT: The man of honor
Greetings. I’m from Edmonton, visiting my sister in Lake Forest and looking for an interesting place in the Chicago area to watch the Open tomorrow morning. Local club lounge or pub? Any ideas?
Mickey Finn’s in Libertyville has a good tap selection and food menu
Are you trying to stay in the Lake Forest area?
Easier to stay nearby but don’t mind heading out towards the city if it’s worth the trip.
5i and The Green are both golf specific sims/bars if you’re into that. Probably will be at The Green myself tomorrow, but it’s a bit of a haul from Lake Forest
Lantern? Not even sure they have tvs, but a good spot none the less
There’s a place just up the street from The Lantern called Duffers that has sims and a menu if you’re staying in Lake Forest proper
Thanks. Duffers is a 15 min walk. Perfect.
Had tv’s last I was there but been since BMW at Conway.
A drive away from LF but the shack in Glenview is supposed to be good for golf watching and this vibe as well.
A whole bunch of you guis donated and supported - and we can’t thank you enough.
Race went great - we hit both my personal goal AND our team goal, and Jacob was very excited to see all the people cheering him on.
Refuge for the win…yet again ![]()
