I can drop a Zoom link if we want a full multimedia experience.
I think the cord can do everything zoom can, no? Zoom can’t force @HackMarkham to join the discord, however.
Ah thought Discord was audio only. The only limitation I see is a cap of 25 people but doubt that will be an issue.
I can’t make it bc the boomers have a playoff game. Pls keep me posted on if you need anything from me
Everyone please reply to this comment with topics you would like to discuss. I will go over the framework for '24 events and explaining how Ope-n qualifiying will work. (Spoiler alert: the Ope-n is now our regional, so our team will have to be chosen by mid-June to allow for people to plan to attend/not attend/find Ope-n subs).
How will we chose that team for the Ope-n? Can we get them to give priority waitlist spots for regional teams to get in? (Make it a 72 person tourney solves this but we aren’t the planners)
Ope-n moving to July, frees up mid- August?
'24 Merch - Travel coffee mugs? Tshirt run? I love all my towels but I/we’re good for a while.
Spots given out at MP, Tale of 2 Nines at Belmont (@Xlink asked for a Roost team spot and got it), Breakfast Ball.
Maybe one given out to overall Mudness winner? Need to discuss the future of this event in the post @TeddyPargame era, but I think @djheadley will keep it going.
Yes, the first 12 spots in the sign up sheet were blocked out for this.
Assume spots will go to highest 2CGC finisher in these events in the scenario where someone outside the roost wins the event?
i could be talked out of retirement if kenosha cc freaking calls me back.
This year we had 5 events before the mid-July date. If that carries forward into 2024, perhaps take the low average net player across the events prior to Ope? Minimum of 3 events played in order to qualify for that ‘points list’, and not a player already qualified via MP, 2 Nines, and BB.
Call it our “Half-A-Season-Long Race-To-The-Ope”.
“The Eye Test” spot
I think we need to ask ourselves what kind of team do we want representing our Roost? If we are going for a horses for courses situation we should take the people doing best at Mudness and Spring Valley
Of course if the Americans win in Italy everyone will be saying just give Ethan 4 captains picks.
What is the format for that playoff? Or still TBD? Topic for the call?
BRB… Seeing if I can find shots gained data on local L & M tracks.
Edit: Just found the horse pun in there. Good stuff.
Moving Mudness 2-1/2 hours North is the opposite of the PGA holding events in Memphis/Atlanta during August.
Where do people prioritize their travel: Roost championship or NIT?
Do we have an inside man to write doctor’s notes so qualifiers can get out of work/family obligations?
Is there a single charity we want to primarily donate through (First Tee, IJGA, etc)?
Is there an over/under on how much @andrewf handicap is going to change now that he’s back working amongst the unwashed masses?
How dare you, I showered on Friday.
How much budget do we have to hire MBAs and quants to tell us who is the best team for Lawsonia?
