Roll Call “Chicago” (Part 1)

but have you tried?

I had a reply typed up as I live a couple blocks from the Thompson but I kept scrolling to avoid duplicates and @TheAbeFroman pretty much summed up everything I was going to say haha.

For an upscale dinner, the immediate “viagra triangle” area around your hotel are all on the nicer side and pretty solid IMO. Maple & Ash probably would be considered best but my wife mentioned to me recently they started charging $100/person minimum for dinner. Now, with the menu, it’s not hard to hit that, especially when you throw in alcohol, but worth noting.

I will second Dublin’s Bar and Grill as the best dive bar in that immediate area. It’s across the street from the Thompson.

I can’t recall where the 3 million+ bagels for the city go but she can get deep in NPR segments or ask them. Believe Spoken and Beans n Bagels source there up my way.

Does anyone know if there is a St. Peter’s Peacocks bar in Chicago?

I think they own every Purdue bar in town until the next time they face each other.

That’s just bar rules.

Wife going out of town all next week leaving me as solo Dad with my 3 boys for Spring Break. So I did some bartering and was approved for golf all day today and tomorrow. Thanks Chicago Spring for completely detonating my plan!

Soft conditions at Battle Hills yesterday, but a good walk with @TCRBrad and @Pinehurts.

We’re we’re the only ones on the course, with the exception of the ultra-sicko that was on the putting green working short game when we got there and was still doing it when we made the turn. Legend.

Also, @TCRBrad refered to himself as a “human golden retriever”, which is very accurate in my experience so far.
I would like to put forth a motion to add
“Mr Peanut Butter” to the approved list of nicknames for him.

Mr Peanut Butter gifted me a hat and a tall boy on the first tee of our match last season at lost marsh. Pretty sure our boy did not intend it as gamesmanship, but it took me like six holes to recover from the generosity at which point I was like four holes down.

The @TCRBrad nickname is apt.

We played together at Mudness last year and his infectious energy (and seemingly unlimited Fireball supply) kept me smiling the whole time.

Speaking of that guy - everyone please tag the @SecondCityGolfClub Instagram page tomorrow in all posts so him and I can repost them!

Any final date on the opening in LP?

No word yet. Going over to the location this week but looks like Masters thursday is now almost a 99% long shot. A true bummer
