Solid course in good condition. Finally got out there this summer. 18th hole is a ridiculous golf hole, but my friends and I enjoyed the course as a whole.
For the lucky chicagoans playing golf this weekend please think about participating in this challenge proposed by the IJGA as part of the Golf Maraton Fundraiser
.
Doations will fund financial aid to junior golfers that have the desire to compete in IJGA events, but whose families do not have the financial resources to provide equipment, golf lessons, practice opportunities and/or tournament entry fees.
Anyone looking to play tomorrow? With the marathon on Sunday, I don’t really feel like leaving my house.
I got a tee time at 7:50 in St John Indiana about 45 minutes from chicago if you wanna join @rmbartell and I
Appreciate it but was hoping for something a little closer.
Wish I could play tomorrow, but my work’s having a block party so I’ll be there all day. All are welcome to attend, it’s free, outside, there will be live music, a dunk tank, food and beer.
Anybody trying to play Monday or Tuesday?
I’d be all over this and catching Ryley Walker if not headed to Iowa.
Which courses in the area do you guys think are handicap boosters or killers around the west burbs? Played some courses and see the rating for the tees and can’t imagine how it’s accurate both ways. Girlfriends uncle made a bet with me on my handicap so trying to gather some info on courses in the area since I grew up south burbs and haven’t played a lot of spots here.
Booster: Bonnie Dundee or Countryside GC
Killer: Stonewall or Chalet Hills (from back tees)
*these are all NW Burbs
Countryside Prairie, not the Traditional. That course sucks.
I’m playing MP at 7:50am next Sunday if anyone wants to join. Still three spots online last I checked.
I snagged a spot.
Did you guys make the trip today?
Also grabbed one
The 9 that is across the street is kinda neat, anything else is a snooze fest
15 is one of the garbage holes, but overall the back is less bad than the front.
Round up from grabs this morning with @EConroy419
9:40am Mt. Prospect. Already paid for. Walking.
My sitter just bailed on me and my wife’s company doesn’t believe in Indigenous Persons Day so it’s daddy daycare.
I’ll take it.
We did - and it was glorious. We absolutely need to get a Refuge outing together up there for next season. The course is beautiful, pace was perfect, and of course, foliage was on point.
I don’t think I’ve ever hit so many different clubs off of tees. Every hole makes you think about exactly where and how far to hit it, with generous landing areas narrowing the more distance you take on. You can’t just step up, bang driver, and go find it. I hit D, 3W, 3H, 4i, 5i, and 6i off tees - and that’s not counting the par 3s.
If the tee shots weren’t exciting enough, the greens are somehow even better. Lots of slopes, backstops, kickers, punchbowls, you name it. Rarely is it the best play to shoot straight at the pin.
This was an absolute steal on the Fall rates at $85 a person to walk. Me and @TrajMahal got out to a hot start 3 up through 3, but @BigBird and @FlapjackNickelsack steadied the ship and Mac hit a 12 footer on 18 to win 1 up. We had our chance at redemption on the 15 hole putting course but I somehow developed the three foot yips to lose that too.
I had a blast, the course was awesome! Looking forward to getting back up there.
Refuge outing next summer is a must
