@rmbartell and I are headed just across the border to Palmira Golf and CC in St John Indiana. Played this course a few times last year during the spring when Illinois shut down courses for COVID. It is a hidden gem in my opinion and just a big playground tipping out at 6900 yards with a slope/rating of 133/73.9.
I booked 4 spots for 7:50 am Saturday morning if anyone would like to join us. The rate is $29 walking and there is a range there. Anyone is welcome to join and I’m sure Ryan and I would love to take up a side game and lose some cash.

Also skipped the IL regs and ventured to lawless Indiana during lockdown a few times. Gotta love anywhere your range is a bucket of found balls, has a bonus/abandoned par 3 between two holes, and a picnic table under an old tree by the 18th green for post round bevs. Hit up Windmill on the way back.

Anyone made the trip up to Stonewall Orchard in Grayslake? Playing there on Halloween, buddy invited me and I know nothing about it.
Solid course, usually kept in great condition. Heard the fairways were problematic, but that’s common this summer.
Lots of carries, course knowledge is great to have out there.
The cart GPS control is insane, just don’t bother with a cart. There’s only two or three longer walks between holes.

It’s fine for 17 holes. The 18th hole is fucking dumb, though. It’s also a looooonnnngg way from the freeway.

Great golf cart seats. Lots of power lines ruin the vibe. I played like total garbage here last year but would try again. Couple of unfair holes.

Toss it in “marshall mode” it takes off the GPS govener and If they catch you, tell them it was that way when you got it.

You can probably find it online, but its like a video game cheat code.
Tap the screen in this order (Bottom Left, Bottom Right, Bottom Left) Then it will prompt the settings menu and it is an option along with Handicap Cart ect.
Learned this while working as a rules official and I would drive full speed everywhere. The proshop can see that you are in this mode on their pace of play monitor so its best to play dumb if you get caught changing it.

I managed to play an extra hole at Stonewall without turning it to Marshall mode but it was beeping at me and threatened to self destruct.
