Noticed that due to Covid the train to Lemont doesn’t run on weekends. Anyone in the city mind if I hitch a ride? I’ll meet you anywhere, wear a mask, pitch in for gas, buy you a coffee/beer, etc. I’d rather not spend $80 on ubers if someone is willing haha
I plan on driving and can scoop you. What neighborhood are you in?
Gold Coast near clark/division
Sweet deal I got you, I will shoot you a message and we can figure out the rest.
We got a fourth, but we’ll post in that thread in the future and maybe try again next year with the plans COVID wrecked.
I really encourage more of you from the refuge to get involved next year, the foursome that we had going this year has been great fun. There’s no doubt about it, folks who get up for a regular 6am weekday money game are my people. I know there’s more than four of us out there
I asked my wife if we could move to the city. This was not an insignificant factor.
She said no.
I’m so in for next year. #getinvolved
Maybe time to reconsider the “we” part.
(Sarcasm font.)
“You really are a funny guy”
This is now a dad joke thread.
But all kidding aside - we’ve discussed trying again next year and getting more players, weekly games with season long impact, continuing Scotch, Wolf Hammer, 7 club. Hopefully COVID wave 2 doesn’t cause the powers to take out '21.
Sounds expensive, but I’m listening
Just called Cog and paid for the event on the 3rd. Excited to attend my first refuge meetup! @EConroy419
I did a search and found very little info on Blackstone Golf Club in Marengo, IL.
My buddy and I are looking to meet halfway to get in one more round in October (he’s in Madison, I’m in BloNo). I recently played just the front 9 of Aldeen and came away pleasantly surprised, but he heard about Blackstone from a friend.
Blackstone would be about a 30 min longer drive each way for each of us. So, to all my Chicagoland NLU’ers… what say you?
Blackstone or Aldeen?
Looking to put together a foursome for Ravisloe on Sunday at 11:40. Any takers?
Would be interested if still looking
Will be driving from the city if anyone would need a ride to avoid the train.
Am still looking. Need 2 more
I’ve only played it once. Was a very nice but difficult course with some super quick greens. Kinda in the middle of nowhere as you’ve said, but well worth the trip if you’re in the mood for a challenge.
Blackstone is a fun course. Usually in really good shape, fun layout and a quick pace most rounds I’ve been there.
I’d recommend it.
I haven’t played Aldeen yet, so can’t compare, but that’s on my list of courses that have been recommended to me by more than one person. Supposed to be great for a park district course.
