Roll Call: Bay Area Golfers

Merced, man! I think it’s actually a men’s day so there’s bound to be an interesting game of some kind.

Did you see a tour player today?

Negative.

Slim, I’d love to join you at Merced next Wednesday.

More than welcome. Goes for anybody else, too. It’s a 12:30 shotgun, dinner’s included too.

Shoot me a DM so I have your phone number.

Is that Ocean or Old Course, DD?

Ocean. And it’s wide open.

It is a fun course! Paradise if you are a bit wild off the tee. Will cost you some strokes if you miss the greens in the wrong places.

CPA here. I’m making my third trip in 5 years to the Bay Area this April from Indiana after tax season is over. I’m planning to play Pasatiempo and one other. Thinking Harding Park a month before the PGA could be fun. Any other suggestions?

Pasa will not be available to you from apr 11-15. Western Intercollegiate. It should be in great condition immediately before and following, they will close the course Apr 20th to punch greens.

Will you be actually in SF? Or other part of Bay Area?

I am pleased to report that Crystal has had a huge turn for the better. I played today and talked with the superintendent after the round.

The winds that we’ve been having, plus the lack of rain, has really dried the greens out.

They sanded the soggy parts and roped them off for the past week and they are back to playing smooth. If they get another week of sun and wind, they will be rolling great. I just hope the patches of grass that were lost to mud grow in soon.

The fairways are still soft and there is little roll and the bunkers are still a mess.
