Roll Call: Bay Area Golfers

Seven Hills - herb focaccia was so damn good. Also had a shaved salad and a truffle tortellini which was fantastic but didn’t need the truffles. Fantastic recommendation. Just wondered into Union Larder for a quick glass and some cheese - exact atmosphere I was looking for.

This neighborhood slaps. Way different than being downtown.

When your Chunks partner from last year destroys the field once she goes solo

That’s a wrap on our major, the 5th Annual Chunks at the Chuck!! A moody, gray, chilly morning at Corica Park North outside of Oakland greeted our 70 competitors but gave way to sunshine and 30 mph gusts on the back nine and conditties made scoring very difficult in our Stableford scoring format. At the end of the 18 holes our four flight winners - @brett, @hawesy, @Mr.Alleged and his wife @FlorencePuttingale - advanced on to a shootout on the tricky lil par 3 course, The MIF Albright course. The 9 hole competition was close throughout until @FlorencePuttingale put the hammer down on the 8th with a par and then proceeded to hit one of the great shots in @RACDGNorCal history on the final hole with a near ace and ended things with the Steph Curry #nightnight to lock up the 1st NIT spot and our first female qualifier. The second NIT spot came down to the two low cappers in the foursome, Brett and Trent and in the end the boy from the Central Valley @hawesy was able to shake off an opening hole quadruple bogey to earn the 2nd NIT spot. Class performances all around and we are proud to have them represent us this fall at in AZ.

Once again this year it was all about the kids as we were able raise some money for CASA of Alameda County while enjoying each others company. In the end it looks like we’ll be cutting a check to CASA for around $9,000 which warms the cockles and makes all the planning of the event worth it.

Thank you to the Corica Park staff for hosting and thank you to everyone who competed, supported and otherwise were involved in making this year’s iteration of the Chunks at the Chuck a success.

Feels like the NCGA rate could be one of the best deals anywhere with how good it looks

The NCGA rate at Poppy HILLS is the best rate anywhere in golf. I will stand by that take.

My Dad is the handicap chair of his golf league and the NCGA gave all the handicap chairs preview play a few weeks ago. He loved it. He’d played the previous 27 holes many times and felt this was a huge upgrade.

Much easier to walk, less penal, and way more thought provoking.

If you want Mexican and you’re headed to the Mission area- a burrito place has to be the choice, right?!?. In which case, La Taqueria is the option.
