Thank you so much!
EAL did Northwood… it was a great video.
Just watched it - really good story telling. I had a different experience with the trees though, they didn’t come into play for me as much as it did for him.
It really was a fantastic video for me to watch. I’ve never seen drone footage of the footprint; so that was definitely cool. I remember my younger years playing out there and not really having a plan or knowing what spots get you into trouble. Historically, I definitely felt the delight of hitting left on number one. I saw the superintendent out there at 8 pm Saturday night… that guy works his tail off for sure.
Just watched the behind the scene vlog as well real quick. He definitely got time at the Meadowclub. Wonder if he just got to do a MacKenzie Loop.
Hey All… got an email from MasterCard in relation to a deal with TPC. Buy a $150 gift card and get $200.
So my girlfriend and I are coming in next week and I’m getting probably 1 round to play. We have a rental car so not totally worried about distance, have heard you guys have awful traffic but we’re from Houston so awful traffic isn’t new. Anyways point being I was curious where I should play, I’m pretty drawn to Pasatiempo but I’m pretty open to suggestions as a whole.
If you can play Pasatiempo, can’t recommend anything more than that unless you are really going big and going down to Monterey for Pebble or Spyglass. Pasa is the bomb.
Agree with greebs Pasatiempo is insanely good. Played both Harding Park and Pasatiempo, but months later I remember every single hole from Pasatiempo. You won’t regret it
I agree with the others but would even go further than greebs. I think Pasa is hands down better than Spyglass. And while I’ve only walked Pebble a couple of times during the Pro-Am, I think they’re comparable. Pebble obviously wins for historical meaning and views, but factor in the price difference (about 2x these days) and shorter rounds, I think it’s reasonable to recommend Pasa over PB. You can always drive a couple of miles up Hwy 1 after your round to soak in as much wild coastal views as you’d like.
Please check GolfNow.com for hot deals at Pasa… might help if you can make those slots happen. But obviously you’re locked once booked.
Does anyone have insight on when Corica Park’s North Course (front 9) will open?
Haven’t heard anything official yet. So far it’s just been private walk throughs.
Pasatiempo today.
I’d second this. And it’s nothing against Spyglass which is incredible, but the big pass time is on a different level.
Speaking of, it looks like they are punching their greens next week, which means that it’s ~half price. If anyone is thinking about getting down there, but the price tag has been a non-starter, I’d highly recommend grabbing a tee time on the last couple of days that the price is reduced (it’s $175 through Oct 10). I played that weekend last year and probably wouldn’t even have noticed if I didn’t know going in.
I think the front nine is supposed to be in the next two months and the back nine in Q1 next year but as you say, nothing is confirmed.
I’ll second this idea. About one week out and things heal up quite nicely. I’ve done it myself a bunch of times in the past and it certainly didn’t affect my enjoyment of the round. I’ve found that the greens run a bit slower, but that can be a positive aspect especially if you’re inexperienced on those greens.
I’m playing it on October 9, the last day of the ‘punched green’ price by pure coincidence, and I will for sure say I’m happy to be spending less than full price (especially as I’ll be there as a guest so paying even less than normal public price.)
Pasatiempo is the literal best.
Did we just get in a ‘second-this’-off?
I’ll second your seconding this. Far less likely to putt back into the ravine on 16.
Haha. I saw that afterwards and was hoping nobody would notice my awkward reply!
Or de-green yourself on 2, 3, 5, 9, 11…
