Roll Call: Atlanta - Campout 3/15 - Stankonia 6/7

Incredible work!

With anyone not familiar, Fore the Ladies is an awesome organization that is #GrowingtheGame. If anyone has a wife girlfriend sister whatever who might be interested in learning but was always intimidated, the FTL clinics are awesome. It’s girls only (mostly new or beginners, but open to all skill levels) and they have a few drinks and learn fundamentals of golf from a teaching pro. She also does ladies golf trips for the more experienced golfer (they are going to pinehurst again this spring).

Done and done. Great choice of charity to support.

Literally hadn’t heard about them until saw them on the hat post yesterday. Showed my girlfriend who is absolutely petrified at the thought of swinging a golf club in front of strangers on a driving range and signed her up for their event at Intown this weekend. She’s waitlisted so hopefully she can get in and I can enjoy the bourbon tasting after as well!

Awesome. It’s an great organization and they do an amazing job of creating a really fun low pressure environment. Well the good news is that both Atlanta events to date have all sold out, so Abby is definitely going to keep coming back. If you by chance end up at the bourbon tasting I’ll be there.

Heads up everyone. If you go into refuge settings you can now add some TPC flair. If you have any issues or similarly don’t have access to the Roost Thread let me know and I’ll make sure you’re in the group.

I got my flair!

Same here, had not heard of them until the merch sale, looks like a good group to support and happy to do so. I also have a partner who is new to the game, and she could definitely use a ladies group like this to help her enjoy the game even more.

Signed up to play Monroe on April 18th - this will be my 2nd attempt. Feeling very motivated after registering.

Is this a place of special history or architectural importance? Not heard about it before.

Did some clicking around - big discount on yardage/green books for GSGA courses at this link

https://www.strackaline.com/events/1038/info?aff=GSGA

$35 for green and yardage combo!

Monroe Golf and Country Club? It’s absolutely not of any special anything haha. It’s fine for what it is, but it’s a run-of-the-mill country golf course, if that makes sense.

Oh, and they don’t allow walking. Take a peek at a map and see how maddening that is. They said “it’s the only last right our members have so we have to protect that.” I’ve often tried to pay for a cart and walk and they still won’t let me. I can go on…

This is pretty sweet!

greens books are for cheaters

That’s so stupid. Same with Dogwood not allowing walkers until after 1 pm on the weekends. Wanted to join but can’t before of such a dumb rule.

It’s only cheating if it’s against the rules.

No just one of the qualifying sites each year.

Motivated by the opportunity to compete, not the golf course, necessarily.

The ‘no walking’ rule must be new and that SUCKS to hear. Pretty easy course to walk.
