Welcome. You can probably lay claim to the northernmost nest member for NA ?
I’m down in Edmonton, always happy to play with other nlu fans. We have a few active folks in the province and I play most of my rounds with other refugees at this point. Good people, and passionate golfers.
Hit me up if you find yourself down here for a round. Jump in too when the plans come up for the battle of alberta. Calgary has enough guys already so we can take you on the e-town team.
In related news it seems the curse lifts on monday.
I will definitely hit you up if I am down in the area! When I was coming back from Laughlin last week I had seen that Red Tail was open before venturing north back to the homestead. It sounds like the courses in Edmonton are opening this week if they are not opened already.
Our courses open on the 24th and 25th. I am looking forward to getting back out there, just hoping the weather holds up.
You’re ahead of us! The usual suspects are open already, my preferred courses are looking like later this week - privates after that. Played in an absolute gale yesterday with Ray, but was great to get out. Excited for slightly warmer weather soon…
@southafricancanuck and I bailed on a friday afternoon round as it was miserable and cold wed/thurs. Turns out we made a huge mistake and should have played, it was way warmer than forecasted, calm and sunny. Oh well.
I hit balls mid-day and it was perfect for a round, many regrets.
Hurricane Dunc was the only thing stronger than the wind yesterday. Headsup, My guy’s stripin’ the ball while i’m out losing TM balls i don’t like. Fun as hell tho!
Got out for the first round yesterday at Delacour while I wait for my club to open. Shocking to no one that has played there before it was 2-4 club wind and felt like we played into for over half of the holes.
Course was in pretty decent shape, greens rolled well enough for April and no noticeable winter damage. Remains a public favourite of mine.
Keeping the dream alive in freedom town, we hit up the wolf creek courses for a quasi cgy/yeg battle. Fun times, but a bit of a tough day on the course. Big wind (hello alberta) and slower than expected greens were messing with our heads.
My team had some funky-ass lies and here’s one @cmonk28 had to deal with from a mid-line bunker on a dead into the wind long par 4, you’re welcome say the golf gods.
Two 18 hole games, ended in a draw, with close matches on both courses right down to the wire. Cheers guys @cmonk28@southafricancanuck and Kris. Maybe we’ll catch you next time @cav007 and @duncmitchell !
Jump on in lurkers, we need some cgy team replacements for the deserter @Bunk
Hah i’ll send you the video form it really was sporty.
I realize we’re pretty lucky to have something like kananaskis so accessible, but I need to really start playing more 7am rounds out there, it is completely worth the 5am wakeup.
