Same here.
All signs point to me being the last participant to ship their gift out…not sure how I feel about that.
@Godmar you absolutely hit it out of the park, can’t wait to crack these books open when the temperature drops. Zingerman’s is a family favorite (my dad was a student at UM back when they opened!), so we’ll definitely be brewing some great coffee when they’re in town next week! Many thanks, my man, and hopefully I’ll make it up to Michigan this year for some golf!
You’re welcome! Glad you like it and that you’ll be able to share some with the fam next week. Enjoy it and Happy Holiday’s!
Two of my favorite books ever
The Tyler the Creator sticker with the FCF chain…
no no no, what is in our roost mech is clearly FcF Golf Man. I’ve never heard of this Thomas the inventor, or whatever his name is.
I’m accepting no further questions.
Devil in the White City is fucking great. I’ve probably reread that book 3-4x.
All credit is due to my wife on that pick. I had to turn to her for some advice since I’m not a consistent reader. She usually reads one a week.
“thomas the inventor” is so much funnier than it has any business being
You aren’t alone, I’m sending some stuff out tomorrow on behalf of another Santa to cut down on shipping time. USPS may have dropped the ball on my first attempt, I took it to the post office on 12/17 and its apparently disappeared. Lesson learned go during business hours and get them to scan it in.
I might need to re read that one, because it didnt/doesnt stand out to me as one I thought that highly of.
Just an FYI: I did the same thing (After hours drop) and the package didn’t show up in their system until 4 days later.
I kinda figured someone forgot to scan it, but on the off-chance it’s doomed to eternity sitting at the bottom of a bin (it’s a rather small parcel), I’ll mail a backup. Chances are both will evetually show up and our guy is gonna get doubled up on this particular gift, so a good draw for him!
And the 2nd part has arrived! Makes me wish Sweetens was closer to me so I could go more than once a year. Thanks for the print. It’ll be framed and in my office tomorrow!
And want to publicly acknowledge @jdillardwatt for the gifts. He sent me a nice DM to explain his thought process and he was spot on. I love bourbon (no ice of course) and Sweetens Cove. There’s a reason we plan an event there. The bourbon glass is going to be a fixture in my rotation now!
Didn’t know they had a deck with such a grand name. My last name is Heckel, I want this print and to make it out to sweetens even more now lol.
First off - an apology to my secret santa - I opened this on Saturday while I was prepping (cocktails, unsurprisingly) for our roost holiday party and didn’t have time to post. I then forgot until this afternoon but just want to thank @McStruggles for his thoughtful package! Leading with a #handwritten note and of course the goods:
A bottle of bacon infused bourbon, with accompanying recipes from the bartenders at his local cocktail joint. The updated Scorsese oral history that I am extremely excited to dive into this winter and a golf ball ice tray that has already gotten some use.
Thanks so much, hope the holidays treat you well!
