Played golf with a fellow RACDG NorCal member (@jdbruin) I’d never met before. By the end of the round we realized we’d been at the same wedding maybe 25 years ago (we are both old). Small world.
Package delivered Tuesday …… crickets …. Porch pirates?
Might want to reach out to @lazyjk to do a check in with your recipient

I think a handful of people usually wait until Christmas morning to open the gifts.
Well my Santa didn’t sign his package with his screen name, so can’t shout him out. (I don’t want to doxx him either!) But needless to say he knocked it out of the park with some serious sleuthing. Can’t wait to use the pizza spices and the 394 hat is already in rotation today! The Whoop bands will come into use for some variety and the Arteta book will be perfect to read over the holiday break! Thanks Santa!
Well, fuck, I haven’t laughed like this in a WHILE.
Big thank you to my good friend @Jrembold for these extremely thoughtful and stress reducing gifts.
My hatred for Zach (which masks the envy) is well documented, so tossing a few steel tips at his mug when the NLU 2023 Ryder Cup Recap gets published will be cathartic!
The autographed card is of Grace Park. Appreciate this in that it allows me to post this below with context! Always good to be reminded of that fact that your golf peak was 27 years ago.
Thanks again JR! The whole family is enjoying!
LOL that is hilarious, well done @Jrembold
The dart board is hilarious and every time one bounces out of the board I hope you think of Zach at Augusta.
@paroutfromhere did a bang up job. The blanket got used on the couch, while I watched my Vikings lose the OT thriller against Cincinnati, merely hours after I opened the box. The shirt WILL get used when I tell the better half I’m going golfing, and the Meme Lord pin is going on my vision board. The pair of Weller bourbon nippers will go nicely in my NorthStarUnited Glencairns.
Sorry for the delay, found the box on the porch on Friday and opened it on Saturday.
My gift arrived yesterday and I opened it this morning. A legend around here, @Slainte who has to own the record for non-NLU employee getting shouted out the most on the pods, knocked it out of the park.
As he mentioned in the note, I tried to make the core of the gift easy, with the not so subtle reco in the thread about the Aged&Ore Neat Traveler. As someone that doesn’t like to have a lot of extra stuff, that will be super useful and get a lot of run with local tastings and other trips.
That was the centerpiece, and he was nice enough to provide a sample of everyone’s favorite horsey top to prove its viability with the stresses of travel. Along with it, we got some goodies from TBC Collective (that single prong divot tool is going in the bag immediately), Dormie Workshop, and the TSR launch, all of which will be very handy. Love that the bucket has a little more heft than my nylon ones from Imperial.
I’m excited to figure out when to get down to Sweetens in 2024. It’s my favorite course I’ve ever played, and to make more than a few loops around it with a member will be a treat.
Thanks again, Dave! Enjoy the holidays.
Good stuff, Patrick. Hope you get some good use out of that nifty traveller. Have a great holiday!
My man! Glad you enjoyed it! Merry Christmas!
So many thanks to @phrodo for the awesome gifts. Thankfully my in-laws happened to snatch the package off the porch before the holiday pirates could.
RIP MFDOOM. #cartlife
@Iennis0121 you beauty. What a lovely and on the nose gift. Thank you so much. If you ever find yourself in central Illinois, let me know and we will find our way into a round.
A Culver’s valuables pouch?!
@FrequentFader looks like Marte got the NLU podcast secret santa bump
That’s my dude! First career pick. Stingers up!
Glad you liked it! Marry Christmas!
