That’s part of the game! Context clues
Less “context clues” and more “here is the answer written out plainly in this case”.
Can’t wait for somone to start recording their games and post them, and become the Rainbolt of Golf Geoguesser
24988! gotcha!
Shane Ryan tried his hand at some light Geoguesser influencing at one point. Think they are still available on his Youtube page.
Only missed Whistling Straights by 3,506 miles!
Might start working on the next map early next week. What theme would people want to see the most? You can pick up to three options.
- Open Rota
- US Open
- PGA Champs
- State based
- Tourist Sauce
- Strapped
- General Overseas
- Architect Based (I won’t do Dye first)
- Canada
Can I write in “surprise me?”
In that vein a “shares the course name” would be fun. There are a lot of pine valley golf clubs out there, and this one ain’t that one.
What if you let the top scorer form the next map pick the five courses for the next one?
They also have to smash the spacebar as loud as humanly possible
I got 24,883 because I couldn’t find Whistling Straits and thought the timer was for the whole quiz and not just the first question.
This isn’t a bad idea. Could get really off the rails quickly that way though. I’m thinking, for now, we keep it a bit more themed and then in a bit if people are wanting to submit their own maps/ideas we can do that.
The other part of this is that there has to be a Google Maps view of the courses picked that will work. If there isn’t one, then that throws the wrench in the plans.
Some quick testing shows this seems difficult. I went 1 for 5 with an actual useable maps image on courses I thought of ![]()
Not intending to steal G4M’s thunder - but I had too much fun and made another one. A little bit harder but still well known courses.
Okay, I did horribly on that one.
Summary
There is one in particular that is killing me.
Way off on a couple of them, but really thought provoking. Great challenge @jsg_nado!
What are the rules in googling specific clues found in certain images… I may have cheated or I may just be a brilliant detective
