I love this idea and I cannot wait to get through it all. Figured it might need its own thread since the podcast is three hours long.
Personally had to pause it to laugh at 1:50 when @KVV dropped a “University of Miami (of Ohio) on em. Thank god for @Randy immediately jumping to correct.
What a lovely post christmas listen! Gotta say…the entire story and the 10 year run jist makes me laugh and gives me a ton of happiness.
I also had to pause the podcast with 15 minutes left to go rewatch the first 10 minutes of episode 3 of strapped s. carolina. “There’s no debtors prison” followed by the first beat of lawyers, guns, and money. Perfection.
Working today, and most of my normal podcasts didn’t post today, so dove into this. I’ve got like 30-40 minutes left, but I made some kind of noise when Cody revealed that fact about the April fools trap draw
Even with revisiting some of the old, well-known stories (origin of “Randy” and Neil/Korda, etc.), it was time well spent while practicing on the game.
Selfishly, it’s always a treat to hear the guys talk about their days at Miami University (Love and Honor, @KVV).
I was just a kid in school at Talawanda (which is the Oxford public school district, for those that don’t know) during the genesis stages of NLU. Blows my mind that I might’ve bumped into TC at Hueston Woods or Indian Ridge, or seen Soly or Randy uptown, having no clue that one day I’d be writing this sentimental mush on a golf message board that they started.
They’re probably tired of hearing me say this, but I’d love to see the crew come back to town sometime, and show off our couple of mediocre public courses to the Internet golf sicko world.
Who threatened to sue NLU, Justin Ray or Lou Stagner? (I know the answer can’t be Justin, and is the guy who was begging to be brought on the podcast a bunch lately)
