They will though. You can guaran-dam-tee that Augusta RCRs are history. As others have pointed out Augusta probably only fights that fight up to a certain degree, EA will fight that fight full stop.
They also announced they got all four majors so they are definitely making moves. In almost all cases I feel competition is good, I hope that remains true with this situation.

But someone said above that HB Studios can’t actually fully delete a course from the system because it messes with their broken ass HDCP system

This is also why a group of designers at TGCT has been working to move the course file away from being an Augusta RCR with Fruitland Farms.
The version right now is still Augusta in appearance with a lot of tweaks to remove the Fazio/Hootie/Payne stench from the course. A significant overhaul will come later this year too get out of ahead of the complaints HB has received in previous C&D letters. Most notably, the green jackets care about the clubhouse, Amen Corner, and changing/moving Rae’s Creek and the various bridges that scream “this is Augusta.”
If only @JBors was bold enough to let us play Fruitland on tour. Unfortunately, he wants to stick with the old course file where approach shots that land short on 12, 13, and 15 stick on the hill instead of rolling back down into the water. Imagine the fear of approaching a front pin on 15 when you can no longer just blast it long and know that your splash shot will hold the green or stick on the hill.

I hate myself for having the temper of a Saudi Sergio and shutting down the PS4 after knowing I’ll be DFL. All to relive when I don’t remember my scores and have to look them up to enter into the doc.

Or was it a smart move considering I have to bench him 2 weeks anyways, and I would rather do that at a course where everyone is shooting low (see: me being only 5 strokes worse), versus a more challenging course? That is just good roster management.
