Welcome! and thank you @lostinspace for the info as well.
The next season will officially begin on 5/14 with Blockie’s Open, but I am hoping to get decent participation in a couple off-season events the next two weeks in order for new players to qualify. I will be finalizing everything from this season on Monday 4/29 and will also make a new announcement/info post that evening so you will have a full brief for the new season and a link to the new scoring and info spreadsheet.
I played in the Xbox society event last night as a practice and I was humbled. I thought I was good at this game. Turns out I’m not. Very excited for the challenge though.
I’m Fred Fishsticks on Xbox and I think I shot +73 for 4 rounds. I got better each round but I am not used to playing on the league settings (I had it on easy mode previously, apparently) and it’s been a fun ramp up in skill required.
If ya’ll want a break from the butt kicking, I published a experimental course.
2 sets of tees, 18 holes, 9 greens, on a plot of land that is about 600 yards across.
Each green has 2 pins during any round. Heavily inspired by The Rooke Course from Mario Golf: Super Rush, Lots of crisscrossing of routing, lots of different ways to hit into greens.
I’m curious if anyone else is experiencing the same issue as me, there was a server/online outage earlier today and now that it’s back online, equipment/currency has been reset to default with nothing unlocked that I had before. Game currency is at 0 when I had several thousand previously. I opened a ticket with 2K but I’m guessing they might just tell me to pound sand if it’s just me.
At the very least it seems to be vanity/appearance items, my club fittings are all still there. Just really annoying to have progressed through the game to unlock/earn stuff to have it wiped out.
Edit: appears to have happened to everyone, some posts on the TGCTours forums about it. The good news is it shouldn’t impact actual gameplay/player performance if the fittings/skills are still intact.
It’s the conclusion of Season 21 on the Refuge Tour! Thank you as always to everyone who played this season, it’s still crazy to think this thing has been going since early 2020.
@Davifuego is our S21 Butt Cup Champion! Some stellar play to keep the big numbers off the card and results in a convincing win. @WhineyCracker52 and @BlakeG round out the podium.
For the podium finishers, the prizes are custom stamped ballmarkers that I will make for you. They do not in any way have to be Refuge Tour themed, so I’ll reach out via DM to get things going.
Informational post for Season 22 is forthcoming, we are getting going pretty much right away with a couple off-season events that I hope to get a lot of participation in so new players can qualify.
Welcome new and returning players, this will be the information post for our sixth season on 2K23, the 22nd overall since the beginning. The new season is scheduled to begin on 5/14 and will run through July.
This is the new spreadsheet, if you are a NEW player please sign up by adding your Refuge handle to the Flight Status-Player List tab. The first event of the season will be your qualifying, or one of the two off-season events, provided we get enough participation to see where your scores stack up. The off-season event qualifying will be a judgment call on my part, I will let you know if we need to use Event 1 of the regular season to flight you.
****if you played last season, you are still on there and assigned to your flight. If you qualified mid-season but didn’t post any tournament rounds, you will need to re-qualify. If you posted a tournament round but are missing from the player list, please DM me and I can get it sorted out
General Information:
Tournaments are completed in the NLU Refuge Tour societies on Xbox, Playstation, and PC.
Please post your scores in the appropriate tab for that tournament, in the correct flight.
If your Refuge username doesn’t appear in the drop down list check that it is entered on the flight status tab and that you have completed qualifying (if there is still a problem shoot Jeff_M a message)
All rounds should be played in the society tournaments unless otherwise stated.
Society names for each platform are as follows:
Xbox: NLU Refuge Tour
Playstation: NLU Refuge Tour
PC: NLU Refuge Tour
Events run Tuesday to Sunday, Mondays are maintenance days for flighting new players and to update season points. See the Schedule tab in the spreadsheet for the full season schedule with dates for each event.
Tie breakers for 1st place in each flight are (in order): Final round score, penultimate round score.
Battlefield flight promotion after 3 wins is in effect through event 5, after that there will be no movement. A battlefield promotion will carry over half points.
The playoff at the end of the regular season is a full field event which is handicapped based on season performance.
In order to qualify for the playoff, you must have posted a minimum of 24 individual round scores. This requirement is to meet the minimum number of rounds to calculate a representative handicap. So, even if you don’t finish an event, it is in your best interest to post scores from any rounds you did complete.
NEW FOR S22:
Flights will reshuffle at the conclusion of the season based on the season-long strokes gained metric. 24 individual rounds (75% of the schedule) played through the season is the minimum threshold to be eligible for the reshuffle, otherwise you will remain in the same flight.
Regular season points winners from each of the lower flights earns an automatic promotion to the next flight.
Prizes for the podium places of the Butt Cup are custom stamped ballmarkers courtesy of @Jeff_M. This is a very low stakes thing, let’s just have some fun.
*NOTE: The Commissioner (Jeff_M) is not eligible for prizes. If he places on the podium of the playoff, the prize will be pushed to the next eligible player.
Tour Player Rules:
No chipping on greens unless your path to the hole is impeded by rough, sand, etc.
If you do not post a score in the spreadsheet for an event, it will be deemed a DNF. Each week I will try to go through and remind folks who have blank spots, but please do your best to keep up with this so scores and points can be totaled in a timely manner.
Use your best judgement and don’t be a scumbag.
New players joining mid-season:
Qualifying is open through the season, sign up by adding your name to the Flight Status - Player List tab in the spreadsheet. The current event will serve as your qualifying.
First, find the NLU society in the game on your platform. The society should be called NLU Refuge Tour. We are on PC, Xbox, and Playstation.
Take note of the difficulty settings so you know what to expect. You can find this info on the Difficulty Settings tab in the spreadsheet
Take note of the Rules, you can also find a tab for this in the spreadsheet
Play the current event and post your scores as a Qualifier to the appropriate event tab.
you will be flighted depending on your finishing position in the event.
Last note here, the in game society events run on GMT, they start at midnight GMT and end at 1am GMT. Just pay attention to this and the dates on the Schedule to ensure you don’t miss playing an event.
