PGA 2K23 Refuge Tour - Info Post #9562 - S24 Begins 11/25

lol for sure replay that round and post the right score

The hack is to be far enough away/downhill from the hole enough that it maxes out the putt meter - if it’s physically impossible for you to get the ball to reach the hole a wedge is acceptable.

Can’t wait to get in for Season 23. Just found this thread and hope to be able to get involved soon after the Butt Cup.

Welcome! S22 starts on 5/14 with Blockie’s Open, but I am planning to have a couple off-season events the next couple weeks. If we can get enough participation for those off-season events that I can have a good reference for scores, those could serve as qualifiers for new players. If we don’t get enough scores to compare against to determine a flight, the first event of S22 can be the qualifier.

If there is an explainer post for tour structure handy that would be swell otherwise I’ll start from the top and work my way through the thread.

I feel like this is a thread that needs some weekly newsletter love to spread the good word. @MerchCzar

Going to respectfully WD, unfortunately my guy had some back spasms kick in during the third round.

(I was miles out of contention and straight up not having a good time playing this course)

This course is sweet, but probably takes a TON of rounds to figure out where to hit it. I was aiming (and landing) in the middle of the green, and the ball would end up in bunkers.

I also W/D’ed, but I W/D from every tournament after 1-2 rounds.

What I’m hearing is that the event is a rousing success.

(also it might be a tad too difficult. I will note that for future)

It’s not too difficult. The low caps just need to buckle up and be OK with some rounds in the 60’s!

Digital golf’s most coveted (net) prize. Also Cologuard won’t return my emails for sponsorship opportunities.

That was rough

Honestly, I thought the course was really goofy. The conditions weren’t unreasonable. The extremely cambered fairways into very heavy rough, some silly pin positions, several what I thought were like 9/10 shots getting ejected into completely boned bunkers, a few chips/putts from just off the green that seemed legitimately impossible.

Entirely open to the possibility that I am just being dense/butthurt. I wasn’t playing my best so it isn’t the reason I’m not winning, and I came into it in a bit of a sour mood so that could be impacting my opinion

Coming back from ea sports pga to this week was a bad idea. WD after 6 holes.

Miraculously was able to continue and finish the tournament after some balloon treatment (24 hours away to regain some sanity).

I played a bit better but I still wouldn’t say I “enjoyed” it. In the final round I drove 13 and degreened the eagle putt, then went to 14 and hit what I thought was a perfect shot just long left of the pin to use the backstop, came back six inches too far and went down in the front bunker. Things of that nature.

Clearly others have handled it all far better than I though

I used to play this game a lot but my friends stopped. I would love to get back into it now that I have found this thread. Can someone direct me to how to join this society. Sorry in advance but I really suck at navigating through the refuge.

Check post #8746 (just scroll up until the numbers on the side of the screen match that) and it has the google sheet and rules/regulations for the thing. I think this week they are doing a major and the next season will start in a couple weeks.

I’m new as well so I’m just practicing on the difficulty the league is set to (self set) and playing through the season courses so I can get a hang of it.
