Buried lie in a bunker?
Visually it looked normal. Iāve never seen one with a percentage that low without like accidentally switching to driver
True rub of the green situation. Iāll have my sand guy go check the upcoming venues.
Silly Szn - WEEK 3 UPDATE
Week 3 is in the books from Skyhaven. Iām getting reports that only one player went over a cliff but was swiftly rescued by our boat crew. Also for those who were unaware, there are hang gliders available to quickly get down from the clifftop Airbnb.
Individual flight winners:
- Young Hitters: A tight race at the top, @kmart796 pulls it off
- C-Suite: @BoomBaby812 completes the hat trick and has been posting scores that are contending for the lead in YH. Iād look for a win there soon (will carry over half points and will be in YH starting now). Heās already in second place in points there as well.
- Strapped: @PullFade is on a heater, goes back to back.
- LPCP: @TGray comes out of a three way tie at the top, the tiebreaker is the R3 score and a solid -8 is enough to get it done.
On to week 4, and back to a normal golf course. Tawari Toro was a World Cup of Design contest entry for 2023, and I feel is a solid test.
A quick note from the designer:
This course has a mix of inland holes and oceanside cliff holes and has many different styles of golf to be played throughout the round. The front nine is mostly inland while the back nine moves out towards the coast with eight out of nine holes having ocean views. This course has a lot of drives off the tee with little danger but requires you to play your tee shot strategically to have a better angle into the green. Driver may not always be the best play. Being in the wrong spot on the fairway could make it harder to hold certain greens.
With my record in silly season events many people are starting to ask if I am a Mickey Mouse (virtual) golfer
My badā¦
Saw what I THOUGHT was a Pro V1 and it turned out to be a Top Flite.
Slipped down the cliff trying to climb back onto the fairway
Hey yāall, I have published a course today called Bodark Ranch. If anyone wants to play it and give feedback Iād appreciate it
The Refuge Tour will be dispatching a representative to visit! (if I can find the time over the weekend I will stream a round on Twitch, potentially Sunday afternoon)
Iāve got a spare 20-30 mins, so weāre gonna go live in a couple mins
@David_is_Goliath there should be a VOD available after so you can see the course playthrough.
Edit: stream died on me as soon as the round finished so I didnāt get to recap, but I really enjoyed it! The greens are wild, bunkers are even more wild, and I look forward to hosting a Refuge Tour event here soon!
Thanks dude! Iām on my way home from the golf course now. I am excited to see your play through.
Tawari Toro Tangle - WEEK 4 UPDATE
Week 4 is in the books from Tawari Toro. Iām hopeful that it was a nice change of pace from the madness of a cliffside fantasy course.
Individual flight winners:
- Young Hitters: @kmart796 is on a heater, taking down all the big names and goes back to back Ws
- C-Suite: @valleyslice just about runs away with this one in C-Suite
- Strapped: @PullFade is the latest player to notch the hat trick, 3 Ws in a row. Promoted to C-Suite and up to 3rd in the points race.
- LPCP: @rookie177 holds off a charging @mlakota in round 3 to hang on by 2 shots
No new qualifiers the last couple weeks, if you know anyone who would be interested in playing, tell them to #getinvolved!
On to week 5 and Royal Melbourne for a real test of golf in the seasonās first Major, The Victoria Open. Iām hearing reports that the course is playing delightfully firm and fast and we have a great weather forecast ahead. Should be a fun one, so please enjoy!
Thanks as always for playing here on the Refuge Tour

Approaching the final streach of Allenmore, Elkās Club LIDAR course (aka, my home course that is 5 minutes from my house, aka the worlds most underwelming LIDAR recreation) I took a long time off from PG2k23 to focus on other stuff, but dove back in a few days ago to blow the dust off and actually use all the refernce photos I took golfing with @Ghost_of_Ty_Webb, @mkirkham84, and @apples this summer
Got a few notes Iām fixing in the next few day (weird trees I donāt like basically), but should be ready is all itās glory soon, including an extra set of tees that donāt exist in real life to make it a bit more ācompetitiveā in PGA2k23, but only so much I could do with out going beyond the real property line, per @MrVinegar206 's suggestion, which I took.
Made the executive decision to remove all the heavy rough, have no āfringeā along the fairways, just Fairway then light rough around 90% of the property (with a few spots of long grass between holes), because Allenmore, frankly, doesnāt have long rough. Thereās the fairway cut, and then eveything else. It just didnāt look like Allenmore with a semi-rough cut all around the fairway, and I couldnāt get the āheavy roughā to run fast enough to play like it does in real life year round.
Messing with pin placements this week, and green/fairway/rough firmness, but should be published over the weekend.
I was about make a post about how sick the tournament committee was for the final round setup, then realized that was only round 3 and round 4 has the wind dialed up another notch. Buckle up I suppose!
The final round is the most Iāve felt like I was fighting for my life since we ran that test event on an Augusta knockoff. With that wind and these greens, truly sick stuff

In the immortal words of Captain Johnson, āTheyāve lost the golf course.ā
I went into 18 having already committed to quit golf after the round. Then I hit my approach inside 10ā and rethought my commitment. That putt lipped out and rolled 36ā by.
Iām basically a korn ferry player in an elevated event at this point.
Hot take ![]()
The course actually played easier in the ridiculous wind in the 4th round. I missed most greens so I got to chip it close for tap in pars. A couple of 'em even went in. Missing greens on purpose might be my new strategy.
Always a good feeling when I check the scoreboard and see @BlakeG is only ahead of me by 3 strokes.
Oh but wait, he still hasnāt posted his R4 score yet. And Iām done already.
Just realized the current event never got published on the PC Society schedule - anyone who did play rounds on your own please just make sure to post scores. Apologies for that oversight. The next couple events will be up shortly and course settings for the next three events will be in the spreadsheet
