Heck of a first week back on the Strapped Tour.
Swing feels good after moving in to the new house and setting up a new work/gaming rig.
Started the season focused on hitting fairways and greens, definitely need to start playing more aggressive if I want to compete on this tour regularly.
Love ya @Jeff_M for keeping the ship a float for these last few years. INSANE to think we’ve had the Tour running this long.
We’re on to Black Betty Basin for week 2. This course is inspired from the basic concept of Pine Valley, so expect some level of difficulty in shot making. Should be the continuation of a nice intro to the season before we get into the wacky courses.
Just a quick info post here since I imagine a few Nest renewals align with the calendar year. You do NOT have to be a Nest member to participate in the Refuge Tour, this thread should be in front of the paywall and open to all.
Week 2 is in the books at (Whoa) Black Betty Basin.
I’m quietly wondering how many people actually picked up on the play on words in the name of the event
Individual flight winners:
Young Hitters:@Juice breaks free of the YH pack to win
C-Suite:@BoomBaby812 goes back to back and posts a score that nearly would be winning in YH.
Strapped:@PullFade evades the two Jeffs and grabs the win here
LPCP:@BMarsh is another flight winner who goes back to back, strong starts for the season!
After the singing bass trophy debacle last week I did manage to convince Raul that a trophy that plays Black Betty on repeat was a bad idea, so you’re welcome.
On to week 3, and commence Silly Szn! This is the first of three over the top fantasy courses we will be visiting this season. I hope you all brought your ballstriking this week. Also please do your best not to fall off the bridges, the water is deep and is fine to swim in, but it’s a hike to get back up on some of the elevated cliffs and rocks.
What’s the best way to find courses, especially when they named creatively? I know of the website below, but if I’m looking for something, is there a better database? Like I feel like Bandon Trails was around at some point.
The problem with that list is not only some of the course names have to be changed to avoid censorship, but the designers have to submit courses for consideration, and not everyone does that.
My usual route to finding them is to search on the TGCT Forums in conjunction with the list you linked, the Completed Courses and Under Construction sections have some hidden gems - the code names for the versions of ANGC that are out there, for example. Just pay attention to the dates on posts, some are old threads and would have been published in 2K21, and some designers didn’t port them over.
Only through one round but this place is sick. Think my favorite random design element was the lone gallery member standing on top of a massive rock on the left line on 11.
Eagle on 18 after hitting it to eight feet in two is up there with the best individual holes I’ve played on this game
Event closed early on Xbox, but I got my rounds in. Had a super solid second round going until the ball phased through the cliff on 17. Sick triple brought me back to earth real fast.
