PGA 2K23 Refuge Tour - Info Post #9562 - S24 Begins 11/25

Reminds me of a moonlight Graham quote from field of dreams.

“You know we just don’t recognize the most significant moments of our lives while they’re happening. Back then I thought, well, there’ll be other days. I didn’t realize that that was the only day.”

Hmmmmm. It would seem these settings are a lot more difficult than whatever “normal” is. Maybe a practice round would have been a good idea

The settings are beating my ass.

Just had a triple and a quad on holes where I didn’t go OB

I empathize.

I was too over through four. Just missed an eagle putt to get back to even, and then took two more putts so I only got par on five (or maybe it was four). Now I’m 9 over through nine…

Lol I’m +47 through two rounds. With only a couple three putts. I may need to bow out of this

Nah just keep going that’s what I did the first couple.

I just finished the first round 15 over. Going bogey, bogey, par, par, par, double, triple, bogey, bogey, birdie, par, bogey, double, par, birdie, quad, bogey.

Foolishly I just started the second round after the first round and hit my first ball out of bounds and the drop position he gave me as such that there’s zero chance I can ever get back to the fairway…So this is fun.

Because what I really want to do is to keep pounding this ball directly into this rock face… Literally forced to take a plus seven, awesome.

Rd 2, +20…two stroke limit holes 1 and 18 and an eagle.

Edit apparently I was +28 in rd 2…

A nice clean 98-97-77. Feel the excitement.

Honestly thought I had a chance this week with an opening -9. This course abruptly corrected me with back to back triple bogeys on the second round.

I hate it.

I’ll fist fight whoever made the course

I realize this may not help now, but hit the pause menu and there is an option to take an unplayable. This allows you to play from spot of your last shot if you end up in an impossible place. Once it puts you on the course you can hit the left bumper and it’ll go to the previous spot for you to drop

I’m going to be honest I hit the pause button and it didn’t bring up and unplayable. Just resume around, watch replay, turn order, scorecard, leaderboard, course details, skip whole, or assign wireless controller.

I don’t know if that has to do with the fact that the drop was on the fairway technically by this course design or what but I saw no option for that.

It’s a fun course design and I’m sure if you’re any good it’s a fun course to play. But that may have been single-handedly the least enjoyable video game experience I’ve ever had.

It might have been because you had just taken a drop, sorry you had to deal with that. Taking relief or placing a drop is one of this game’s weak points for sure. Not my intention to cause massive frustration, but hopefully we can find a balance of the rediculous courses and realistic ones

I feel like I exorcised some demons out there tonight, I have historically really struggled with the crazy mountain/canyon courses on all games. If you don’t have driver absolutely dialed you’re screwed, just no playing from the rough or bunkers on a lot of holes

Absolutely did not mean to throw shade with my comments. This course was a blast. Absolute psycho scorecard on my second round - two eagles and two triples. I was laughing the entire time.

Oh well, I should just play better really!

If I could’ve kept it out of that canyon and then out of the water on 18 in rd 2 I’d have been in good position. Let that frustrate the hell out of me into rd 3. A mental midget, almost like real golf, but I hit the ball farther here. Ha!

I appreciate the hell out of people taking the time to build courses like this, and you organizing this whole thing as well!
