I still canāt figure out the first hole. Itās just two hit and hope shots, truly the wildest of the EP courses.
Am I the only one that didnāt realize that you maxed out at 50 skill points, and was just mindlessly building skills. I was basically just trying to get all the level 1 skills, then level 2, etc. After resetting those and actually strategically picking them, Iām such a better player.

I didnāt even realize skill points were a thing until a few weeks in with the game, so I unlocked pretty much all of them at the same time. It made such a difference, I may have to go back and rethink my buildout
Iām absolute ass at a straight up and down swing path, timing isnāt terrible, but the path itself is booty and man did that burn me with high winds and bad landing spots today when I played. That and at least once around I feel like I get in a situation where I hit very slow shots three times in a row and it takes three shots to go 110 yardsā¦ Almost like real life sometimes.
I have found you donāt need to do straight back, as long as the through is on the money. My tendency had me swinging to the right when I drew it straight back, so I started drawing it back to the right. Putts I can do totally straight since I can get away with barely moving the stick, but this is what my full swings typically look like
Straight back Iām fine, itās the up that gets me every time. Usually pushing to the right.
Im same on putts, donāt push them but I misread them. Thatās what I get for apparently playing most of my golf on the easiest level and not being aware of it.
Yeah that was my thing, could not get the up/through swing on line. Even now I will sometimes look at the controller instead of the screen, on my PS4 one there is a seam that runs right up the middle of the ball joint the stick is attached to, helps me visualize straight up.

I feel like if I donāt look at the screen Iām really going to burn myself on the percentage needed. Thatās what usually gets me on those super slow shots is when Iāve got to get a 65% shot and Iām so worried about that that I go so slow I hit the ball 30 yards.
I straight up got rid of the swing meter except on putts, has helped a bit. I just go by the controller vibration
What does the vibration mean exactly? I donāt really notice it unless Iām chipping, and then it really messes me up.
EDIT: Could I Google this? Sure. Will I? Of course not.

I believe itās to tell you when youāve drawn it back to the ārightā amount based on the power you picked.
Itās more helpful when you are not playing with the power meter

Finally went and bought a new controller between playing round 2 and 3 and it has made a massive difference

Just curious - if you play ranked, do you enjoy it? Iāve grown frustrated with playing against players significantly below and above my level. Wondering what others think

UKBOPBHMTK - WEEK 2 UPDATE
The Refuge Tour gives thanks to the King and his hospitality at Royal Liverpool. Shockingly, the least popular item in player dining was beans on toast. You all donāt know what youāre missing.
Individual flight winners:
- Young Hitters: @BlakeG pulls a Brian Harmon in that he won by a lot, but heās also not like BH in that he has won probably 90% of all tournaments heās entered.
- C-Suite: @Shoresy had some words for the media after his win. āI just got back to basics, get pucks deep get pucks in the net and win some golf tournaments.ā
- Strapped: @ChuckV247 second podium finish in as many events, this one is on the top step
- LPCP: @Jeff_M the sandbagger notches a 2nd W, he will surely move up a flight before mid-season.
@meathaus correct me if Iām wrong, you are a new qualifier? I saw your scores posted in YH but I can move them to the qualifiers section. You were trending towards LPCP but if you were able to get a round 3 score let me know and I can post it. Cheers and welcome!
Weāre now back to the States for the US Partially Open. The Refuge Tour Committee has worked diligently in securing 7 general admission spectator tickets, please contact Raul if youād like one and we will distribute on a first come, first serve basis. We did strongarm the host course into letting playersā family inside the ropes.
Thank you for being here on the Refuge Tour, hopefully we pick up some steam as we get into the season, and I will be involved here as much as I can. My current joy is finding bonkers fantasy courses and seeing what tomfoolery is out there, on the second half of this season there will be some fun ones.
