52 minute update on tap for the PS5 this evening
This was my first time playing that course, felt like I was putting sideways on nearly every hole. Round 3 setup is #tuff
9GB update for the game and none of it addresses any of the core issues with the game
I was very, very confused by that as well. 9GB felt like a LOT.

Is this seriously the extent of the patch notes for a 9GB update? The entire game install was like 12GB.
I found this on a site that isn’t 2K’s site but I can’t find the notes on their site

Amazing…was hoping for some club stats or something fun and new

Came back to earth with -4 in round 3.
It made me laugh out loud how broken some aspects of the game still are, what on earth did that update do? During career mode you can see occasional highlights from your rival or other players and it shows the graphic like on a real tv broadcast that shows what hole they’re on, score, etc. Twice now it’s shown JT and said he was -11 and -14, checked the actual leaderboard and he’s -3/-4. And once it showed Tiger at -14, and he’s currently sitting at +1. Maybe it’s jumping ahead in time and showing what the simulated score will be later? Also, showed Tiger in Sunday red during R2, that feels like a pretty big detail to miss with maybe the most famous trademark of the cover athlete.
So, one of the shiny new features of the update was the tiebreaker fixes. I ran into this tonight in my career and it actually works kind of cool, with one major problem. So, I go into a playoff with Villegas, and as you’re playing it’s telling you how your opponent is doing (“Villegas is in tight here”). So I play two playoff holes, chip in to win on the second hole (nbd)…and then the game just freezes. Just stays on a picture of the winning hole, no trophy presentation, final leaderboard, just stuck.
I closed out of the game and logged back in and it had saved all my progress and made me the winner of the tournament which was very good. But, they fixed it, without fixing it???
- Also, regarding chip ins, it’s still waaaay too easy. I played three rounds at Genesis and chipped in seven times.
Sounds like it might have been a glitch, I had the game hang on me a couple times, frozen on showing my ball in the fairway or something. For me it eventually unfroze itself though and I carried on playing the round.
I guess at least now it tells you what your opponent is doing, before I didn’t notice that at all, I lost in a playoff on the KFT and made a par and then suddenly it was over and kicking me back to the leaderboard screen.
I had the game hang on my a couple times last night, and some really long transitions from one hole to the next. I had chipped in on a hole and it went to show me the replay (which I need to turn off), and it just got stuck there and had to reboot. No such problems before the update.
Leave it to @MrCutHook to chip in more than everybody else combined. Not surprised one bit by this

Fwiw somebody has a really good LiDAR of Augusta out. Society admins should favorite it now before it disappears in case we want to use it in the spring. I can’t imagine EA have an Augusta that is anymore enjoyable to play than this version is with 2k23’s improved gameplay.

For any players new to the game/series, keep this course and any other famous ones quiet, they are quick to censor them from searches in the game - up until now they have at least left them in the game but I would not be surprised to see them start to be deleted entirely. Favorite them so you can access the course even after it’s not searchable. I know in the previous game The Old Course was blocked, Pebble was too but that might be ok now based on what was tweeted a few days ago? Remains to be seen I suppose.
