@waver82 Unfortunately I have to WD also. Staying with (and taking care of) a family member post-chemo, in addition to our everyday task of wrangling a 1 year old.

We booked the Hampton inn in downtown Cleveland. Good price, nice place, only 20 minutes to the course, can walk to breweries and food. Just don’t do the $45 valet if that’s absurd to you. Parking garage across the street is nice and is only $16 for overnight

Hi everyone! I will be driving from Buffalo Friday - ended up finding an AirBnB in Mayfield Heights. I’d be interested in meeting up Friday evening, be it downtown or Willoughby.
2 questions - I may have missed the information since I’m a DC member.
1 - Do I need to Venmo/PP funds for Saturday?
2- Any chance I can get a cart to ride (sorry, ready to catch flack for the ask)? Or would I pay for that at the course?

Couldn’t believe how expensive hotels now are! Even my AirBnB wasn’t cheap. I have new found respect for the Tussle organizers finding a block of rooms!
Definitely planning on riding Saturday. I walked Manakiki a few weeks ago. It’s doable for sure, but looking like it’s going to be Tosti on Saturday so I’m opting for comfort.
Yeah the hotels outside the city weren’t any cheaper and look a good bit less nice. Airbnb situation was pretty bleak too. Expensive and small spaces. Wild that the best deal is a decent Hilton property right in the middle of downtown
Sorry for the lateness fellas and appreciate your patience. In the process of inputting the tee times into Unknown as we speak. If anyone needs to drop please let me know because I’ll have to let the course know so we can give back a tee time. Shout out to @Gobrownies09 for helping me try to stay organized and hash out tee times; anyone who’s played with me knows I’m a bit of a slacker so thanks Colin.
Out of towners to echo what Conley said you’re probably getting the most bang for your buck at the downtown Hilton. Aloft is also typically affordable and close to the Flats. If you feel like getting a bit weird Friday or Saturday evening your a 5 minute walk to restaurants/bars from either. Also on behalf of the roost as a whole thanks for making the trip.
Trying to get us into the Wright Place but with a large group it may be tough. We have a few other really good options for after round hang close to Manakiki regardless.
For those of you playing Friday Golf at Oberlin I should be there 12-12:30. If you’re coming from Rte 122 be careful of speed traps near the Outdoor Recreation Complex. There’s a nice range and practice area you’ll see right from the lot. BYOB but feel free to put NA drinks and food on my account just give them the last name Kopera. It’s a very walkable course, I’ll be walking. It’s $50 walking $69 riding; venmo or cash after or before is cool f you do take a cart just keep it on the path whenever possible. I’ll check us in inside but feel free to go look around, use the bathroom, etc. There’s some cool historical stuff in the hallways, this year is the 125th anniversary. I’ll be in the 1:40 group, @Gobrownies09 knows the place well and will be a good sherpa for the first group. Glad a couple of our OATW guis are getting a practice rd in before their Mid Am Qualifier. For Saturday feel free to use Unknown for any side games, betting if you want. We’ll need at least one person with the app inputting scores for their group. Typical NLU style Stableford but the app/site will also keep track of Net and Gross scores for us. You’ll pay the course for the green fees and either @joecline41 or I will be collecting a charitable donation pre round.
Personally I think we have a great number of guys considering it’s right in the middle of Summer vacation season. Looking forward to seeing everyone, let’s go launch em.
Sorry to do this and be “that guy” but I have to back out of this event. I’d be missing my son’s t-ball game and I’m feeling some major dad guilt. I did not previously realize it was his last game, otherwise I’d skip.
Apologies for the late notice, and certainly have no issues sending money someone’s way if the course charges for me.
Looking at the unknown teetimes, looks like it has almost everybody playing the tips. Probably not a big deal since to my knowledge we are not playing for anything other than bragging rights, but if people move up, it does probably change their quota. Are we able to edit the tees that we want to play ourselves?
I have this question as well, I will play the tips but should probably be playing 1-up.
This was happening earlier I think I have to manually switch everyone to Gold (current Blue equivalent.)
