I’m all for playing you at a Dye course(s). Unfortunately, I already used my foursome at Crooked Stick.
But if you can get us on the The Golf Club then I’m sure I can wrangle us another Dye course here, something like Sahm GC…

As we mentioned previously in the thread, @SRS_One and I setup a little home and home with a non-refugee friend (we’re pushing to convert him) on 8/15 and 8/16 about a month ago. After the new match play format was confirmed, we decided to turn it into matches instead of stroke play.
Day 1: Blue Ash Golf Course in Cincinnati. Course was in awesome shape. Rough was as heavy as I’ve seen it there, which caused more than a few mystery lost balls for all of us. It was maybe the softest pillow fight I’ve ever seen, with both of us 10+ strokes over our caps, but I snuck out with a 1 up win.
Day 2: Virtues Golf Club in Columbus. Course was in incredible shape, especially given how much rain they got in the area early this week. They managed to keep the greens firms and fast, but the fairways were soft with zero rollout, so it played LONG. We played the one ups which measure just under 6700, but given the soft conditions, it felt like 7000 yards and was pretty penal if you got sideways. Scott just didn’t have his A game yesterday and I won 7&6.
While none of us played our best, it was a ton of fun to get two days with the guis and kickoff the match play. If I’m understanding the points system correctly, here’s the breakdown for each of us.
Scott: 4 points total (2 PPM)
- 1 point per match (2x)
- 1 bonus point for home and home
- 1 bonus point for travel to Blue Ash
Patrick: 8 points total (4 PPM)
- 1 point per match (2x)
- 2 points per match win (2x)
- 1 bonus point for home and home
- 1 bonus point for travel to Virtues

Hey @SRS_One - I’ve added you to the sign up sheet in the 20 slot so we could record these matches for you. Just so you’re aware.
PJ, as for the recording, it looks like you have it right. Really we just need to confirm who won, if there was a travel point, if there was a home and home point and then the rest sort of cleans itself up from there.

Full disclosure: I asked this question because I want to play a match at Diamond Springs. Anyone want to find a Friday or Saturday and join me up there?
I’d say there or the Fort. Only other course I’d consider at that level would be the Brickyard, and I’m playing there on Tuesday. Unless you want to go another hour to Purdue.
I’m pretty much open most Mondays and Tuesdays. Could play early on a Friday with proper planning.

Purdue feels a bit far and if I’m going there I’m going to want to play all 36.
I could easily take a Monday off work in order to head over there to play. I’ve already done Brickyard and Fort which is why I suggested Plum Creek. Trying to knock another off my list.
Ok, no problem. Looks like we can get a Hot Deal on Mondays at Plum Creek. I’d have to start looking at Mondays starting 9/11, unless my plans on the 28th fall through.
