Just as a heads up, we did just have a player drop out which means that @Gobrownies09 will be joining the tournament as they were the only person on the waitlist.
We also had a Cincy player drop and we’re adding a Cleveland based player so there WILL be some juggling of some pods here. Which is to say, nothing is final until we say it is.
EVIL LAUGH
Also, just in case we have someone else that drops. If you want to participate, make sure you sign up on the waitlist. We are still awaiting that last payment so there is a non-zero chance you make it in if you sign up.

Love it. Losantiville looks friendly but will absolutely fuck you if you are not careful. A great addition to this growing rota!.

As in you’re gonna make someone play there? @Zachilroy your thoughts?

Phenomenal match play course. Pretty much everything is a half par hole. Lot of short par 4’s that wind through trees that are massively risk-reward. No easy lay ups on some of them either. Haven’t been in awhile since moving away but fantastic greens too.
I have the course guidebook if anyone wants to get deep on the strategy. I dearly miss having a course like Creekwood near me.

Can’t wait to tee it up. Just need a little snow to melt.

Whoa not what I expected. Thought you liked the greens and nothing else. But, grass driving range is nice.
It’s a weirdly designed mom and pop course which makes for so so stroke play but I figure it could make for s really fun match with all the quirky holes. There’s definitely some that might piss people off with how little sense they make but it’s a true everyone is playing the same course kind of thing.
Take it all with a grain of salt because it was my affordable keep my game sharp spot I’ve never played a match there

This is the best take on Creekwood I’ve ever heard. It’s the course I broke the 80 barrier on. Its been a staple of my dads old guy Sunday game for forever. I was only half serious but thinking about it now it definitely would be a fun match play course because of its quirks.

I’m over that way all the time. If you need a practice round partner, I’m available. Like Ken Norton or Larry Holmes haha

13 and 15 are truly insane. I am so disgusted by 13 that now I just blow driver over the corner and accept that it’s probably going to hit some shit.
I played there a bunch of times in ‘20.

If you Ohio bois get a Creekwood meetup together to all bask in the architectural glory I will move heaven and earth to be there.
I can see it now. Creek Geeks ‘22. 36 holes at Mallard Creek followed by 18 at Creekwood. Summer Solstice.

F*** Mallard. That place should be used as a punishment for terrorists. I can’t stand it. Everything is a boring, driving range shot hole or is so terribly designed that it’s just no damn fun. It makes Big Met seem like Pine Valley,

You. I like you.
The ONLY thing it has going for it is they would be open during the apocalypse. Unseasonably warm February day where the ground is soup? Come on out.

My man - Ridgewood in Parma is your place. A gloriously scruffy old school design. Great contours and shot values. Cheap. And open all the time. Plus it’s got cheap drinks and a good hang in a supremely dilapidated club house. Yeah the food is dodgy, but you’ll be so drunk it won’t matter - and all for 12 dollars,
Mallard Creek has as much charm as the house on the end of a Housing Crisis-era cul de sac with a patchy lawn and Christmas lights which stay on until mid-January.

I feel like pine hills would be a good matchplay course. Some quirky holes and good risk reward scenarios it can present. Of course lightning fast greens that roll true.

Ridgewood/Creekwood home and home sounds like a series I’ll be a part of
My Dads Sunday game rotates between Creekwood, Rawiga and Cossett Creek with an occasional Big Met. Mallard Creek was removed from the rota due to shit ass condititties and a dick starter. Pinebrook met a similar fate last year, my dad has no room for bullshit from a starter at a course he’s been playing for decades
If anyone is interested in a low stakes net strokes/skins game at 6:30am on Sundays with a bunch of old dudes and serious hackers then hit me up in the DMs

Same. I am a pass holder at Ridgewood. It’s a good matchplay course (not super long, and most holes give you an option to play tidy golf vs. trying to torch it). I can’t to the matchplay, but I volunteer as tribute for tune-up matches/practice. Message me!
Old pro at Pinebrook used to hang out at my practice spot and we became friends. Used to sit with me while I hit balls and basically give me free lessons a few times a month. I’m sure PB’s not the same place now that Jerry’s passed on.
Old guy dew sweeper skins game, especially at Rawiga, sounds great. For folks who haven’t been there, especially East Siders or Columbus folks, it’s underrated. Old school country club which is now semi-public, great land, great design, fantastic greens, surrounded by rolling farmland. Easy to shoot in the 70’s because it’s a fair test with some width, but hard to go low.
