Here’s the link
I’ll co-sign that this is an easy, affordable option. If you want to play in any state or local association events, this is accepted. Brough Creek National is an option to support a good cause. I know you can sign up at any Metro Parks course or Sweetbriar as well.
I won’t swipe a card or spend cash at Sweetbriar until they allow walking. Ridiculous…I get some free rounds out there, but I have a firm rule.
I need to get a GHIN. All the handicap apps suck and for many events, they aren’t legit.
GHIN has their own app as well which is pretty decent.
I’ve seen it. It’s legit. Nice if you’re figuring out strokes, too.
Am I stupid or don’t you need to belong to a club to access GHIN?
Where do the poor public folk go for this?
Do you have access to a local affiliate club? Miami Valley Golf Association allows anyone to join their GHIN system without having a capital C club membership.
Yup, I signed up through MVGA with Windy Knoll. If you search https://ohiogolf.clubdashboard.org/, you can find some others to join via online.
I did mine through Denison. You can even do it through their online shop and they set it up and send you your GHIN number.
I have my handicap through the Grint app which I use to track my scores. I think it’s the world wide handicap however those are the same as domestic now or something? Idk. Getting one in the app I think is $30 a year which is the standard cost everywhere abouts.
I think Grint is losing their official handicap status this year though. It looks like for 2022 PRO users should be fine but going forward you’ll have to sign up for a GHIN elsewhere and then backwards integrate it into Grint.
I skipped out on that and cancelled Grint in favor of the USGA GHIN app because of this.
A lot of public clubs offer GHIN service now, as do most of the regional golf associations
Download the Grint and you can get one through there and join our Refuge group on there too
I’m not sure my wife would look fondly on an app called Grint on my phone…
Any public course or driving range will keep your official GHIN. Super swaggy to keep your handicap at places like Reeves.
GHIN really is the best handicapping tool. Their app is incredibly easy and usually the pro at any course can set you up in minutes.
Coincidentally, a friend of mine just proposed a Penn-Ohio golf trail weekend trip consisting of whispering woods and lake view. Looks like scouting is in my future. Just need St. Rappeo on my side to make it out of my pod.
If possible, Id be down to play our match out there.
