Is this the RSG/RCP/Prince’s marathon?
Was hearing about it when I was down there a few weeks ago. Sounds like a lot of fun!
What I learned from this video was to never underestimate the medicinal / healing powers of a couple bottles of red and a good lunch after 36 holes of slogging it out in the wind, rain and cold. There was a lot of energy on display as that group went out for the 3rd round!

Prestwick and Troon have a similar event where each club starts at their own clubhouse and plays the front nine, then cuts over and plays the back nine of the other club. Then they eat lunch in the neighbors clubhouse before playing the neighbors nine and finally their home back nine.
Like the Hagen Hoof it can make for a tough day if there’s strong wind, because you’re essentially playing 18 straight holes in the same direction.

Troon and Prestwick restrict theirs to members but - and I haven’t watched the video yet! - I was told a few weeks ago that RSG, RCP and Prince’s were looking to find a way to open the HH up to visitors.
Eh. Seems a little different in terms of spirit of the competition from what I can find thanks to google dot com
When I saw “54 holes, three clubs” I was thinking 3 wood, 6 iron, 50 degree.
