Love all of those, I would add Southerndown as well.
Just played it on Xbox and thought it was great, so that should settle it!
It was also very hard and I’m terrified of actually having to go out there in real life in two weeks.
Paging @OliveLoaf. What day would be best to start putting any weight into the forecast. First round for the group is Sunday, April 10th.
Thanks!
Around about….Sunday 10th April
Touché!
Honestly though, a couple of days out gives a decent indication.
Look through a couple of sources.
BBC.co.uk is good
https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/ is also handy
Or look at the forecast from Leuchars airfield if you have aviation weather apps.
At the minute, it looks wet and shit…:so have waterproofed everything in the hope that it scares the rain away and we get dry weather
Many people are saying the hat/fascinator show prior to dinner at St. Andrews Club will be the true highlight of the trip.
Prime opportunity for @djpie to wear his fedora.
we will be holding DJ accountable to this.
When is too early to think about a date where we can all smash heads together and actually have a beer?
Us British cheapskates are there Tues 12th, Weds 13th and Thurs 14th…so may be good to get something sorted to network. Or we can just play it by ear and see what happens. Not sure what extravagant plans the NLU trip has in store for the evenings!
The schedule is quite full, but we are free the evenings of the 12th and 13th. The 12th is a double header with morning tee time on the Eden and afternoon at the Jubilee course. The 13th is morning tee times on The Old Course then lunch at Hams Hamm followed by an afternoon of leisure and free evening for dinner, so the 13th may be best from a timing standpoint. Give us a where and when and I imagine you will attract dozens of refugees.
The 13th could work perfectly.
Personally, I am playing the Castle late morning, and then may have a quick knock around the Strath as it won’t take long to get round.
The other Brits are playing Castle early afternoon…so could be done, and then we can spruce and meet up somewhere…after I have had my Nandos
Just did a Google maps search and the One Under Bar has 2.8 stars so it sounds perfect. Just throwing it out there.
Also I’ve heard rumblings that some of the dad’s will be quite busy;
@Randy and @djpie are helicoptering up to *rump International for consultations on a new pod and YouTube series.
@Soly will be in the gym and wants to go by @swolly now.
@Tron will be at the nearest chipping area grinding on his chipping, but
the @MerchCzar has no plans so he’s game for anything.
Craic on.
Surely @Randy isn’t breaking the Strapped brotherhood. The illusions of humility would be smashed!
If the One Under Bar is the chosen destination, it is a very short stroll from our accommodation for the week, so could work out well.
We’ll figure deets out closer to the time, but looks like Weds 13th could be a go’er!
Good to see @Tron supporting Bob MacIntyre while he’s watching the Masters in Scotland; a wise decision.
In true Strapped rules you should be going to The Keys bar on the main street not supping pints under the most expensive holiday homes in the country in Hamilton Grand
It’s Scotland though……surely it’s thruppence a pint
As someone who has paid the bill for this trip, it is 100% not a Strapped production. Also open to suggestions on where to have the largest international gathering of NLU sickos in world history.
And I see your suggestion of the Keys bar now. This could be a large gathering so any local knowledge is great.
The Rule biggest pub in St Andrews next to the Jahngair Indian
