First ride back after having COVID last week and my first ever live ride. I’ll be honest, it was a struggle but it was probably the best ride to do because you get a little break in the middle while Cody gives love advice.
Not sure if anyone else is doing the Power Zone Pack Challenge though I suspect @rkris was given his new FTP results. I did the four rides/week this time and today got on the bike for what was also my 800th ride…and it turned out not only had I done this ride before (not uncommon in PZP, they have their favorites) but … I did it earlier in this PZP challenge! That was really weird for them to put the same ride in during Week 2 and Week 6.
Hilariously, I had the same exact output both times.
Yeah, Angie is a creature of habit—-plus she loves to pump Matt’s numbers.
I was contemplating riding the next challenge, but it doesn’t start until March and runs 8 weeks—-that runs into golf practice season.
I’ll probably take a week or two to chase PRs and then redo the BYZ program again.
I kind of knew that whatever ride I did today would be very “meh” due to being exhausted and probably a little dehydrated from Super Bowl Sunday, but I opted to try a new instructor and do a quick 20 minute hip hop ride with Camilla.
I thought the class itself was pretty good, I liked the amount of climbs and the relatively high resistance she was calling for in between them.
However, not sure if Camilla is for me. She seems to be pretty bad with the whole “we are leaving anything that doesn’t motivate us in the past. This is a new you. You are so strong” type motivation over and over again all class.

Fiancée is working the night shift so spent the holiday with Cody. Pretty casual ride, especially with the Q&A portion, but had me laughing a few times for sure.
Looks like I took this one back in early November, but always happy to retake an Emma ride. Nice to beat my previous attempt by a good margin also.
Did I see there’s a Tribe Called Quest artist series upcoming?? 

Just did another Kendall hip hop ride today.
Hear me out on this one: not sure if this is what you meant by the above, but I DEFINITELY think her playlists, on the whole, are better in hip hop. But…is it just me or is she more annoying in hip hop classes?
Just spitballing here.
Finished up Build Your Power Zones this weekend and would recommend. Average output up from 185 to 196. Happy with the increase of course but I’m most pleased with just feeling stronger from the program and definitely noticing performance improvements. FTP increases are fun but I thought the program was great and not too long, just five weeks, which is totally manageable. Excited to get back into the weekly rides this week with Emma!
Another Power Zones convert

I love me some power zones! I’ve always just aimlessly done them with no rhyme or reason and it was great to have an actual structured program to follow.
I love the 6 week PZ programs, but the 8 weekers can be a drag. If you follow PZP (Power Zone Pack) on FB or IG, they run programs you can do for free—they also often run “mini-challenges” that are 3-4 weeks long between their regular long programs.
Only if the annoying meter goes up to 11.
