NLU Peloton Thread - Weekly Ride: 30 minute 2010’s Hip Hop Ride with Ally from 7/25/24

I will add that the Power Zone Endurance rides are my favorite kind of sweat of any of the rides. Sure, it’s not a huge effort but I’m always absolutely dripping by the end of those rides.

I also agree that Power Zone Endurance rides are an awesome sweat without blowing your legs out. It’s also nice to have that calibrated power bar on your screen to customize a ride for how hard you want to go without as much guessing

The sweat steady rides can be done moderate so long as you have the willpower. Emma’s groove rides are not super intense either.

back on the bike in earnest for the first time in a week since catching the flu. nice surprise to hit 400 rides, and output wasn’t terrible. though it did start a mild coughing fit.

still trudging through CYC this week too.

Just did the 30 min Mayla indie ride from today. Was a real good one, and her first one in English. Was a nice test for my first week with the bike.

Yes, but …. Tapbacks.

I just saw that one as well and am going to give it a go on the weekend. Glad to hear it was good.

lots of variables in play today.

a few months ago I noticed that my output would start dropping to 0 for half a second a few times a ride. I didn’t think much of it at the time. We started getting some instability on the bike in late December also, I knew the feet just needed to be adjusted/tightened, but we were still in warranty so we had Peloton send somebody out.

The guy came out and leveled the bike and recalibrated it also. He mentioned it should be “better.”

Set a 5min PR in my warmup by 1kj, which isn’t that big of a deal, but I noticed right away that my output seemed higher relative to my effort.

Then this happened.

I only beat my previous PR by 1kj again, but that was on a 30min climb ride. I haven’t been within 40 of this PR for months. I don’t know if it’s a week of rest from being sick, benefits of the CYC program (I went up quickly on the bike last year when I did it too), getting back to my usual Friday hype girl, or just the quality of instruction from Kendall that did it, but there it is. Maybe my bike is “hot” now. But I’ve never stopped putting in the work even through the holidays and it continued to be a struggle to keep pace.

And then I finished the day with a CYC and stretch, finishing here. Nice.

Ride 100 was a banger playlist and a whole host of achievements. Onto 101 now!

Can’t get over how bad Bradley is. Every time. His saving grace is his playlist choices. But his weird, sudden increases in aggressiveness is still awkward every time.

As an aside, I’m getting quite a bit of creaking coming from the front of my bike. Can’t tell if it’s the handlebar component or the drink carrier plastic. Any thoughts?

both times mine has made noise it’s been because the leveling feet or floor have moved and the bike isn’t stable anymore. fixing it puts more power into the pedal instead of that energy being used to rock the bike side to side.

at least that’s what I noticed after leveling mine yesterday.

Lots of high fives climbing today

I did a 30 minute with him today and felt pretty much the same as you did, but all is forgiven because the playlist is so good.

I can’t even do it with him anymore. Even if the playlists are good, can’t do it. He’s horrendous.

Four weeks since we got our bike. Really enjoying it. Hope to continue to increase my output and catch up to some of these crazy numbers posted!

I’m in a similar boat - will be four weeks on Monday - definitely getting easier and can do more, but still miles (sometimes literally) away from some of the rides posted here - but love the inspiration and hopeful it gets easier. Excited to start trying some of the yoga, strength, and CYC stuff soon too - open for recs there.

Enjoyed this one! First exposure to Camila and managed to sneak in a PB too

Just want to say that I tried the boxing stuff with Kendall and Rad and found it really enjoyable and a nice change of pace. Good luck man!

I’m by no means the best rider in this group, @kevjones @anon43372372 @Max_Power @TeddyPargame (I think you’re ted sheedy?) all got me covered. But I do feel pretty good about where I’m at now compared to where I was 1yr ago. I started out in 30min rides around 275-325 like many here, and have almost doubled my output since I started.

There’s nothing special about me. Do your time, put in the work, and you’ll see the results.

No— you’re looking for @Ballgame who’s much better than me at peloton and golf.
