NLU Peloton Thread - Weekly Ride: 30 minute 2010’s Hip Hop Ride with Ally from 7/25/24

I actually have found doing a 10-minute stretch every day, even if I don’t work out, is hugely restorative. There are plenty of ones you can do on a hotel room floor without issue.

I have been meaning to do this Queen ride for a while - it was a blast.

Did some quick rides the last two days.

Always love an Emma 90s ride

Then today a Denis HIIT where I missed a PR by 2 :frowning:

Between using theragun to warm up, then warm up rides, cool downs, stretching and mor theragun the 20 minute rides are my sweet spot to get the full thing in before work and still make it to the office at a reasonable time (and not get up ungodly early lol).

New to the refuge, had the peloton for a year or so. Not bad for my first recommended ride from y’all! PR by 2 points.

Got back on the bike after about 7 months and did the Sturgill ride. Turns out that I’m still fat , but now I’m also very out of shape.

I really liked the finish, great ride suggestion. Spent more time in orange/red than other rides.

I’ve never taken just a straight Tunde bike ride (I don’t think), but her bike bootcamps are BRUTAL. I love her classes though because I feel like she is working just as hard as you. She doesn’t fake it at all.

I think this is the first Tunde classes I’ve taken because I thought she was German and didnt want to be yelled at in German. I liked the set up and like @yungloudancolin said, the TABATA at the end was not enjoyable. I touched the sun briefly before I watched @WipeyFade disappear over the horizon.

First time poster, long time lurker here in this thread. Peloton owner for about 6 months now. Did my first of the weekly rides, boy was that a good one. Y’all were right, that Tabata section was not needed….

I’ve been doing the PowerZone Pack challenge and just finished up the fourth of six weeks. That means next week is the hardest and the week after is Test Week.

This week was … no joy. Makes me less than psyched for what lies ahead. That said, I managed to get PR’s in 45 minutes and 60 minutes ride by decent amount of kj, and it translated into a PR in a non-PZ 30 min ride I took with Leanne. It’s been awhile since I had any PR’s and in the last week or so I’ve gotten them in 30, 45 and 60 minute rides which feels really good. My numbers are still shiite compared to some of you all but it’s all about getting better.

Also been inspired by @rkris and been trying to do SOMETHING every day. Been translating into about five rides/week and the other days stretching and strength. Going to see how long I can keep it up but so far it’s been shocking that it’s not as hard as it seems and I have to think the results I’m seeing are a benefit of that as well.

A five minute ride, 10 minute core, and 5 minute stretch is more than you would do if you did nothing…

Also, the ceiling is the roof.

Got back on today. Tried to do an easy ride to ease back in but Emma got me sucked in!

Time for a new weekly update - thank you @greebs for the nomination. Sure to be some absolute BANGERS and CLASSICS in this one. It’s Ben’s 30 Min 80’s Rock from 1/8/21. @ChickPhilA please update when you have a minute or two.

Also a special shoutout to @Bmich97do and @yungloudancolin for adding some new rides to the nomination spreadsheet. I believe we’ve got some newer folks in the thread so a quick refresher is probably in order.

If you go to the top of the thread and click on the Google sheet titled Refuge Peloton and then navigate to the Ride Nominations tab you can add rides to the list for future weeks. The rides for each week are chosen using a very scientific method of a random number generator. It may take time but eventually your ride will be chosen.

I dont think the sheet is in the first post, but I searched through and found it so I could add a few:

@cnasty is the “ride taken” column the ones we’ve already done or is that a “person nominating the ride has taken the ride”?

The “ride taken” column means we’ve already done those rides as a group. I figured leaving previous rides up there helps avoid repeats.
