I personally excel at this.
Absolutely the low point of the ride for me!
I purchased an actual, real, pedal bike this past weekend and went on a 90min ride with the boy today over lunch. Not the same workout as the peloton for sure, but he loved it, we were outside, and I thought it was great activity for an off day.
Yeah, I have ridden outside every day since that June 1 last ride. I also found a 3 mile stretch of road with no stoplights and I do workouts on it going back and fourth. I’m planning on seeing how close I can push to 100 miles by myself on Monday.
I’m sure when it gets dark and cold I’ll make my way back in.
Despite knowing two Spice Girls songs I wanted a short ride and took your recommendation and my shameless crush on Leanne and took this ride.
Sheesh. Very fun, kind of adorable thinking about a nine year old girl obsessed with the Spice Girls growing up and leading this ride (with MelB taking it - all us Refugees crushed her by the way).
Not sure @JohnnyPanton should take this ride - Leanne is so attractive in every possible way it could make him make bad life decisions.
I have allowed myself to lapse from regularly riding. I need to get back into the routine of riding.
Took it last night and I am not ashamed to admit I knew all the songs. Thoroughly enjoyed it and Leanne had me second guessing my Emma and Jess rankings
I’ve been limping around over the last 5 weeks due to some painful ankle issues (maybe gout or pseudogout?), so I haven’t been able to do anything physical. Got some meds that seems to be working. though, so it was so amazing to be able to get a sweat going and do something physical today. Pretty fun low impact ride that was perfect for getting back into it.
I’m trying a new approach after listening to Mike Carroll on The Sweet Spot podcast. I am now subscribing to his Fit for Golf strength program and have been doing his in season workouts at home or his quick workouts. Peloton is suffering right now, but I’ve enjoyed getting back into strength training.
I’ve been lazy the last week. Need to get back on the bike tomorrow.
Wilpers is a great instructor, but his playlist skillz are worse than my bunker skillz.
I will have to take this as Leanne is pretty fine.
3 days of intro rides in, I’m enjoying it. It’s a serious workout, I just wish my ass didn’t hurt so much. I would probably be able to do 40+ minutes a day otherwise. I used to bike to work so I recognize the feeling and I know it will go away, but it’s frustrating since I want to be going harder right now.
Where do you get the fit for golf program?
Some people argue against the padded seat cover but I love ours and also you gotta get padded shorts. True game changers. You don’t even need the massive padded ones. I love the ones from FourLaps. The padded gel seat cover is the big one though.
If your ass is sore - two possibilities:
1 - goes away after two weeks as you get used to it
2 - seat is a bit too high so when you pedal down its pulling you into the seat. A good check for the seat height is standing off to the side of the bike, and the seat should be about has high as your hip bone
Likely number 1, but def worth watching this video (a go-to in the peloton community) in case there are some extra tips to be learned: Redirecting...
Padded Riding shorts can help out as well until you get used to it a bit more.
I used to wear padded shorts when I rode as well, but IIRC I stopped noticing the ass pain after a couple of weeks. I suffered through it today for a 45 min ride and stopped noticing after the warmup, so I think I’m good to go.
You’re gonna feel it tomorrow! GL
On the website and then you get sent a link to download the app. I think they have a one month trial.
Some of y’all needed to start out on the peloton with bigger asses!
