Now that I’ve finally got my bearings, going to start participating in these weekly rides starting tomorrow. Excited!
I took the recent one a few days ago and it’s better imo but I loved both!
Greebs if you tell me youre also into pop punk we may need to arrange a meeting. Separated at birth.
Sadly no … some bands speak to me but I think I’m just a bit too old, never got into Blink, Fall Put Boy, etc. Big fan of actual punk (The Clash is the greatest band of all time and the only band that matters - but Sex Pistols, Black Flag, Suicidal Tendencies and whatnot powered my youth.)
When folks started calling No Doubt punk, I knew the word had ceased to mean anything.
no no no Blink definitely more punk than pop but the others are pure pop in my eyes. I was thinking more like Exploding Hearts or the like. I guess maybe more punk leaning.
I just follow my boi Greebs around to mess with folks.

Super fun ride. Surprised at the PR in a non-climb ride for me. But, the punk soundtrack pushed me through the end. Plus, with only 20 minutes, I didn’t fade at the end like usual.
Kinda cool seeing these older ride like this one with only 6,500 previous rides. For comparison, last week’s Kendall ride from earlier this year had 167,000 rides. I think Kendall is pretty popular instructor choice, but it shows the growth of Peloton the last couple of years. I like taking older rides like this one.
Did the ride - I think Leanne said it was her first? Hearing the songs that I listened to in high school like In The City by The Jam as her DAD’s favorite made me feel soooo old but good stuff
Followed this up with Mayla’s White Stripes ride which was fun. Weird doing a ride when I barely know what the instructor is saying (I did use subtitles). I like her vibe and I think if she spoke English she’d have a lot of fanboys (and girls).
Also I managed to really tweak my lower back during this second ride to the point I was in massive pain for the rest of the day and night. It’s working itself out now after several Theragun sessions and an awkward nights sleep. Not remotely sure how I hurt my back riding a stationary bike (seat didn’t seem to slip at all, etc.) but I guess I was up to the task.
If it makes you feel any better I tweaked my neck this morning turning my head from looking at my monitors to looking at the door of my office because someone came in. I’ve been alternating hot and cold packs all day.
I mean, it doesn’t make me happy that you hurt yourself, but it does make me feel less old since you’re much younger than me, so that’s a win!
I’m feeling almost back to normal - but since I’m going up to Seattle to play Chambers Bay and five rounds in four days, I’m a bit terrified of a sudden back issue. Suffice it to say my Peloton minutes for the rest of the month may ALL be stretching and yoga.
I think you had already taken it, yes? Thought I saw your name on the leaderboard (above mine, of course).
Yeah this was my second time - improved by a few kjs!
Regardless of back issues, I’d HIGHLY endorse the idea of frequent stretching before playing Chambers Bay.
Yeah we are landing (two hour flight nothing too rough), driving out there for another hour but then we should still have a few hours for warmups and stretching. Seems like a SOLID walk.
I’m a big proponent of stretching, obviously. Wish I started regular stretching 15 years ago. I am still stiff as a board, but way better than before with less daily aches and pains.
Chambers Bay sounds awesome. Don’t forget the post round stretch, too.
