NLU Peloton Thread - Weekly Ride: 30 minute 2010’s Hip Hop Ride with Ally from 7/25/24

What a flex. Wow.

Couldn’t resist, less of a flex when you realize it’s crammed a few feet from my bed in my little one bedroom apartment. Hard to beat the view though!

Took a break from 4 weeks of PZ training and decided to test myself and see if I’ve improved. Pumped with the progress. Trust the process. Great playlist. But Kendall is a psycho…i feared for my life.

Got this link shared with me and signed up if anyone is interested in doing field testing:

anyone done this before? they just send you free gear to try and you give your opinion on it?

Some of it can be featured on the app or bike not necessarily equipment. You indicate what you’re interested in at the end of the application

gotcha. sounds cool.

A late night update here for the weekly challenge. Hope this doesn’t wake up @ChickPhilA for the title update.

Been largely unplugged this week. Managed to snag a surplus covid vaccine from the pharmacy and had some vaccinated family in town. Need to get back on the bike this week and expect it to be a little rough after lots of good food and drinks and some late nights.

This week should be widely approved - Alex’s The Last Dance Ride from May 16, 2020. Thanks for the rec @MikeRevak!

Technical question - has anyone had any issues with moving the bike settings? My wife and I both ride and adjust it between settings. The bike seat seems to be stripped and stuck on one setting. When i go to loosen it to move it it just spins without releasing. Any thoughts or advice?

Yeah, you probably stripped it. You SHOULD be able to loosen it by locking it again into place and then trying to undo it VERY slowly. But you probably need to call support and have them come out. I overtightened my seat to the point it started slipping during rides and needed two new parts before it got fixed. (Which it seems to be, thank goodness.)

Yeah i over tightened it because the seat slipped on me once mid ride. Now my wife can’t ride. Someone is supposed to contact me to schedule a technician to come fix. If its the 2 day variety I’m ok…if its 2-3 months my wife may stab me in my sleep.

New zones suck, but at least they help with PRs. And somehow it’s been a year since I started riding on this thing.

I did my first FTP test since October yesterday and forgot how hard it was. Might have come out a bit too hot, but stuck with it and increased my average output from 175 to 185.

Now to decide whether I go head first into PZ training or just continue my love for AT.

My buddy said to me once that an FTP test is like realizing what drowning feels like, especially at the end when your tank is completely empty. Feels about right.

I’ve been away from the bike a lot the past couple weeks due to work and actual spring break travel. I did not like the hotel’s stationary bike, so I didn’t do any rides via the app like I planned.

I did my Millenium Ride this morning with an Emma 90s Rock on demand ride; have probably taken those rides more than any other. I couldn’t get any live rides to fit my schedule. Oh well, still had a good ride even though I couldn’t find the extra gear after the flat-road recovery in the middle. I blame the vacation, but got 36 holes in, so not so bad.

I will try to ride the Last Dance Ride this week. I took it last year. Looking forward to any improvements.

This Kendall metal ride from Monday 3/22 is AMAZING.

Was rated an 8.9/10 and I stayed in the lower half of the resistances called out and still had my highest output in a 20 minute ride (non FTP test category).

Also just noticed that my mileage during this ride was very appropriate for the ride lol.

Love this ride! Been very busy and haven’t ridden for a bit, but I will definitely redo this ride this week. Great recommendation!

Well…I accidentally logged a workout under my wife’s account instead of mine, lost my consecutive day streak, then went to visit family over spring break and lost my motivation to keep doing something. I didn’t do a thing besides play golf for 10 days.

Got back on the bike on Monday for an easy 20min ride, went for a hard 20min ride yesterday (PR’d at 300+), then did a 30min ride yesterday with Kendall. Man…being away from it for that long really took a toll.

Of course it was probably also a drastic change in diet away from my 80-90% quasi-vegetarian + IF, unhealthy levels of bourbon, and a couple cigars that contributed as much as the time off did. It really feels like the week off is going to take me two weeks to get back.

On the positive side, my next ride I’ll hit 100. I also definitely noticed an improvement in leg strength at the end of a round, so I plan on sticking to this, at least at a maintenance level throughout the year.
