Love that all of you are getting more into it.
Next Power Zone 8 week challenge kicks off on 1/20. In the meantime, for all who like Alex, he did a class last week that was absolutely outstanding. Definitely recommend.

Ha fair enough. I have similar feelings with tennis.
Dude 760kj output on a 45 min ride!? What are you a fucking pro athlete or something?
I have heard…no personal experience, that competitive cycling is one of the most cut-throat, rule-skirting sports out there. Like guys will do anything for an edge because margins are so small.
I don’t even want to be here anymore.
No. Don’t go.
This is how i would feel if you and i played 18 together but I would still be down to play…so you gotta stay
competitive cycling might seem like an individual sport, but it’s one of the most hardcore team sports out there. at the pro levels no doubt every one of those guys are on steroids because if you’re not, then you’re behind.
@Craigstands Its Noon on the East Coast.
What is the verdict, whats the ride we are going after this week?
45 min Club Bangers from 01/04/20 @ 10AM. Lets get those heart rates up and work on our endurance time to set some PR
Love it. Plan on knocking this out on Tuesday.
Thanks for stepping up
I’m going to try and do it tomorrow as well. Paddle Ball tonight and i am away starting Wednesday through Monday
lol nah man. I just ride hard and don’t do much true recovery during rides. By forcing your body to recover at a higher output (within reason), you’re teaching it how to become more efficient. You’d be amazed how a small change like that can impact your total output.
Next time you’re riding, if you normally recover at 50-75 output, try doing 100 or 125. It’s only marginally more difficult but will drive up your avg output significantly.
I mean, I get how to get there that is just an insane result man. Rory McIlroy’s highest output on a 45 min ride is 738.
I saw that. I was actually surprised it wasn’t much higher. He seems like an unbelievably fit guy. My 45m PR is 825.
What’s crazier is the guys who are doing 900-1000+ in a 45 min ride. I think some of them have bike calibration issues that they’re taking advantage of, but some of them are legit for sure.
Not gonna lie, the first time I took a ride in studio in 2018 I was worried I was going to see a total output of like 500 and realize my bike’s calibration was out of wack. I ended up in the 710-720 range iirc so I feel pretty good about how my personal bike is calibrated.
Alex’s 1/11 30 Min Hip Hop was on another level. Playlist was
.
S/o this thread for pushing me over 300.
I would venture to guess Rory doesn’t go all out on his rides especially if he is in season which he pretty much always is. I am basing this on all my experience as a professional golfer though so what do i know.
Dude impressive, you wasted no time.
I want to know more about your background. When I was in really good shape my highest output was 541…I think if I had continued on that path I could have maybe hit 600 or so. You are on a whole different planet.
How old are you? Were you an athlete growing up? What else do you do for training besides peloton?
I have a non connected spin bike at home. I already had a Garmin Vivoactive watch that I used for Golf that has all the fitness tracking aspects (heart rate, etc) and I just added a $35 cadence sensor to monitor RPMs. I think the subscription if you don’t use their bike is only $12.99 a month.
Ridiculous wattage flex here! This is beastly.
