for the “bad” looking course, might I interest you in some minimum rates for peak and off season. Minimum I mind you.
I remember when I played Sawgrass (stadium) for $375 and thought that was insane. 5 years and its double!
Shrink the game. Seriously.
The disembodied interviewer voice is unquestionably EAL
Hueber NLU content might be some of my favorite NLU content. The complete second half of Tourist Sauce:Carolinas is easily some of my favorite NLU videos ever and Hueber being along for that is a huge part of it
Edit: I think the hedges in question are across a pond from the green, so not in play like it appears, however I personally do not like the aesthetic; it looks like you’re playing next to a hotel parking lot. Which is funny because there is nothing over there. Why does it even need to be grassed? Why a hedge? Why waste resources on shit like that?
Is Hueber fully retired from competition? Hate to see it, but love to have him in more videos. The dude just knows golf and is a sicko like most of us.
Would of also liked to see what Hueber would of shot from those same positions. Would be interesting to see how much of a “second shot” course it really is.
It’s so the background of any TV shots don’t show crap. Like when they put buildings in as the backdrop for a movie. It’s all done for TV. But someone is going to see that on TV and insist on their club doing something similar.
Yes I understand that but I think a better aesthetic for a golf course would be native trees and scrubs rather than a perfectly manicured hedge. You could of course keep the native planets cleaned up for TV but as it stands it makes the course look like it’s trying to be a garden rather than a golf course.
Like you said, it’s also sending the wrong message about what a golf course should look like.
More of these out of the film room please! — really cool. Probably hard to engineer, but it’d be great to see this kind of play in the weeks prior to other big tournaments!
We agree on this!
I’ve watched Hueber chase TCs putt into the hole on the 7th like 15 times. What a great little waddle
I thought that initially but at the end thought it was better to see where the pros will hit and then see how hard it is even from there…Gives me really good context for multiple hours’ viewing this week.
I think Film Room is the best of all the great NLU video output.
Watching from the UK, the tournament course ones really help add context and interest to my PGA tour viewing.
Also, as we “know” the NLU people, it feels personal and I actually felt nervous for Tron on some the shots!
@Tron - as a sartorial thought leader, talk to me about the untucked shirt…it triggered my (probably overly stuffy) UK golf club sensibilities.
Same. I watched a bunch of those episodes 8-10 times each before my Carolinas trip last spring and they’re great videos for a ton of reasons, but chief among them is Heuber.
I thorougly enjoyed this Film Room! It really showed the emphasis on positioning off the tee; from “Position A” Sawgrass looks somewhat gettable for a good player like TC.
Another thing I liked was the fact that the camera angles gave me a completely different perspective of TPC Sawgrass; it has a lot more nuances and subtlety around the greens than the normal broadcast shows.
More of this please!
Lots of context for how brutal it’s going to be when I play there in a month
+1 sensibilities
