That’s a fantastic point. It calls the entire competition into question!
If nothing else, this feels like a thought exercise on what a PGA Tour broadcast could actually look like and I’m here for the subtle shade it throws. Great work as always!
Tough scene for @ChickPhilA though getting dropped from coverage early.
This drives me nuts! I have watched and re watched this 2 hour show so many times and yet something still slipped through my grasp! Disappointed in myself.
You guys have such great production value on all of your content. Don’t sweat it. Us idiots can only lob from the cheap seats once in a blue moon (or Moon Man, shout out Wisconsin beer).
Also, much improved on the putting! I remember our back and forth on the drills you and your coach were working on and it looks sooooo good! Very jealous.
Thrilled for tonights production. I think its one of the most all encompassing productions we have done yet.
Wholeheartedly agree with you.
The pace was amazing. @StatGuy & Stephen were amazing and played a lot of our favorite hits.
hahaha that one or about 7 others! Some could say I just ran out of holes
Loved this and it really showed off Erin Hills. Looking forward to watching pt 2 tonight
Erin Hills looks like a place I would not want to play without equitable stroke control…
Just finished watching round 1. I have to say, @sundaybag is a man after my own heart taking all these driving irons off the tee. I love to see that. When you have a gameplan, you stick to it.
Especially with the booth questioning it pretty much every time that he, Soly, and Neal did it.
Shades of everyone here questioning me taking iron off the tee so often during the Duel.
@sundaybag to the booth
it’s surprisingly more open, and balls more findable, then you’d think - even as a midcap who sprays driver
Plus the caddies (should you have one) are all absolute experts at knowing about where your ball ends up based on traj
Never played Erin Hills before so someone may be able to set me straight, but the number of left misses on 1, when there seemed to be room to miss right, was worrisome.
We played 6500 yards day 1. A lot of the bunkering on hole 3 and 4 came into play with driver. Holes 8 and 12 - more downside comes into play with driver and a 250 shot puts you in the perfect spot. Def not taking driver there. 15 was into the wind and my best case scenario was banging it into the hill before the green and having a nasty 30 yard chip shot.
I need to hear a pitch for this event being handicapped. Seen enough comments on it and I am struggling to get there since everything we have ever done has been handicapped/equitable.
Pitch me if you feel that NLU Club Champ should be handicapped. I am bias!
I would just say there’s no chance for the higher handicap folks to complete in an event like this, so it’s no surprise as noted above that it came down to the people with the top 5 indexes to move on.
Maybe, now that the organization has grown, you guis can do two flights. You can have the championship flight for anyone with an index below 6 or something, and then a flight for the mid to higher indexes.
Players should play from appropriate tees. It was no fun seeing @ChickPhilA struggle playing from the same tees as you. The Scandinavian Mixed have different tees for the men and women.
