NLU Bandon 2022: Happy Anniversary

Yeah it was worth looking at but man I feel bad for contributing to TC writing something up about how he’s not trying to rip us off on a trip to Bandon.

The cost of making 49 friends alone!

Gearhart was a sell to the wife…this is going to take some imagination

Crossing my fingers and toes on this one! If I get in I’m more than happy to pick people up from Eugene airport.
Damn I love Bandon

Our crew of 20 will be arriving right after this trip! Leave some birdies for the rest of us you guis!

No worries, didn’t come off like that at all. If I’m shelling out a few grand for anything I’m curious and asking questions about what is included and whether I’m getting a decent value. I’m a former revenue manager for a hotel company (and still get to dabble thanks to the Birdhouse at Sweetens) - I’m predisposed to asking those same questions. If someone doesn’t walk away from one of our events feeling like they got what they expected, and then some, then we’ve failed.

Arriving home on your daughters first birthday means you didn’t miss her first birthday, right?!?!

It doesn’t appear anyone responded to you. It’s walking only at Bandon.

I like your optimism. And as a bonus, you’ll have a lot more free time for golf after trying to pull that off!

Me: “I’m going to attempt via lottery to win a spot at a Bandon trip with internet friends and NLU”

Mrs. RFP: “like, for free?!”

Me: “Decidedly not”

Mrs. RFP: (pointing 6wk old baby at me) “and how much is this going to cost you”

Me: “let’s worry about that if I win, right?”

Mrs. RFP: “good point, you probably won’t win”

As someone who was originally on the NLU Scotland trip (RIP?) and somehow got in the middle of the conversations when shit (re: COVID) hit the fan, I know the amount of effort @Tron and the crew put into these trips and any “premium” is well worth the experience they try to offer

(This is not a paid advertisement but am willing to accept an offer if @djpie greases those infamous skids again)

Shall we throw our hats in the ring @sliceroulette ? Surely our countries will let us leave by April next year, right?

Had the exact same conversation with my cat.

I just about became a paying “volunteer” for a local golf tournament which my girlfriend didn’t understand.

Not sure if explaining a lottery that I will have to pay for if I win will go over much better

Leaving’s easy mate. It’s coming back that gets ya (as evidenced by current situ here!)

April is an unknown for now as there is a re-re-rescheduled event potentially
but if I’m around I will be there in some way
lottery or not
cheers

On more than one occasion my wife’s response is “wait, you won a lottery to pay xx$ do go golf…I don’t understand.”

My wife is officially on board, lfg.

My wife agreed that I should at least enter, but maybe cut another trip out if I get in. Umm, sure?!?
