Talked to one of the more experienced caddies that was in my group when we were there. With Sheep ranch and the drastic increase in rounds (thanks COVID, #shrinkthegame) he mentioned that they’ve had a huge need for caddies. I joked that a warm body and a basic knowledge of golf would get you the job and he replied, actually yea. Sounds like they have a lot of new caddies that are still learning and could’ve been that we got some of them. The experienced ones were still top notch but there were a few that seemed to struggle. An example was a caddy directed 3 of us to a bad angle on 14 at Sheep to the right when we all would’ve carried the hill and had nothing in for our second shots.
This is exactly why I’m a big fan of clubs that participate in the Evan’s scholarship program. Doesn’t break the bank but expectations of greens reading is pretty low and all you want is somebody to carry your bag and help watch your ball fly into the weeds
Hate seeing this becoming an anti-caddie/anti-local business space. Feels like the new status symbol of toughness like playing hickories. SMDH.
Hi everyone,
I have decided that I need to go to Bandon in 2023 but I don’t want to plan anything. If anyone needs an additional person to fill out their Bandon 2023 trip, hit me up. I don’t bring much to the table but at least cut down on the “looks like golf is only for white men” comments on Instagram
Sincerely,
Sarah

I had one good caddie and one great caddie on the trip. I carried my own bag the first day I was there on BD and PD and it kicked my ass. I was glad to have someone carry my bag the rest of the trip. I get some anxiety about the double bag caddies but it worked out fine on this trip. @Godmar and I shared a caddie on Trails and we immediately drove the ball towards opposite ends of the planet on the first hole But we settled down and figured our shit out. I think on future trips I’ll carry in the morning and then have a caddie for the afternoon rounds.
First time to Bandon and looked at the caddie situation as one that I wanted advice on some courses, others just enjoy the walk. When I got our rounds kind of scrapped that plan in favor of caddie the morning of 36 days then walking the 18 and afternoon rounds.
Over the days I had a single caddie and double bag in addition to walking and then a pull cart.
My opinion after:
If there is one caddie in your group for tee shots/line they are great to have. I was only in one group without one on old Mac but had people who played there a few times before.
I wouldn’t double bag there if given the option and this has nothing to do with the caddie (our guy honestly did his best) but the fact you never get that rhythm or discussion that comes with a caddie but are paying full or single caddie price.
These skins are a Russian nesting doll. About 5 people have sent in their version of the skins and all of them differ. Including the Bandon folks. Every time we get closer we actually get farther away.
Throw it on a bar tab and run it back next year! I’m in!
Alright, I THINK we’ve got it.
By my count, 62 total skins. Please review and give a shout if there is anything wrong here.
Of note, skins are completely separated out by flight. Anything that happened in flight 1 has zero effect on flight 2.
There is a chance there were some transcribing errors from Golf Genius, and wanted to give everyone a chance to review before finalizing.
The only guarantee I’ll make is that we’ll never be doing skins this way again.

I know everyone is excited about the actual results but the grammar police have a brief but important message:
farther further
I think it depends on how humid it was
Shout out to @MattyB for sliding in with a birdie on #4 Pac dunes from the tips as well - only one I felt like I had a shot of a skin on.
Yea - I went digging to see who else birdied that one
If you guys didn’t hear, @Jrembold eagled 18 at sheep ranch. Glad it held up for a skin!
I completely missed that the skins were separated by flight and figured there would be like 5 skins total for the whole trip.
I would like to back this as well…24 year old male checking in.
Whoever the hell Bartnick is congrats on birdies on 5, and 12. Two tough ones
That’s @MattyB. He also shot something that started with a 6 on Trails (Edit: It was a 69). After watching him up close, I can confirm he is very good at golf.
