Nest Invitational Tournament aka NIT - Viiibbiiinnnggg

Maybe it’s on the organizers than to ensure the victor can safely celebrate in however they see fit, but who could say

I’d like to take a motion to the Jax Beach city council to allocate their windfall from this years successful golf year to create “Clint’s Pond” for all future celebrations.

@JScore was thinking about shaking up and spraying a cold one. I said nah, just dump the warm, half-filled ones we have. I saved that cold one!

Dottie Pepper got a bacterial infection jumping into Poppie’s Pond at Mission Hills before they turned it into a pool. I shudder at the stuff that’s in that pond at Jax Beach.

Probably some brain-eating amoebas tbh

The water at mission hills looked like a swimming pool. It also was much smaller in person than I pictured. Can’t really see the water here but the setting is so good there!

While the jax beach water didn’t look abnormally dirty [for a public, (potentially natural?) pond], @Randy did warn me to be careful before I played my shot out of the water on 18…

Jax Beach was built over an old landfill, which was part of the reason the course was rebuilt after a bunch of the greens kept dying, so that pond is probably best left alone :face_vomiting:

@soly charging and yelling ‘no!!’ When the chant started was somehow all I needed to go full stop😂

Obviously why @BaxterMSP goaded me into taking my shoes and socks off to play out of it on 17.

Finally decompressed from last weekend, 3 of the BEST days in a long long time!

Highlights from the weekend:
@JCO our champion! You were absolutely dialed, loved the convo’s during the finals and cant wait to tee it up again in the new year when I get back down. However, we both suck for leaving 4 footers short on 4 after almost making aces.
The absolute vibes of @JScore, felt like a long lost friend, cant wait chase a little white ball around a field with you again. Was cheering for your to make the final, sorry for making bird on the last to pass you.
Hitting “piss missiles” with @Snellspace Friday afternoon, we both played like ass but had so many laughs.
@Gdasilva11 talking soccer and life with you was a blast!
Grinding it out during the opening round with @bignanski, made it easy for this socially awkward butterfly to find his wings.
@Very.chipper forgetting to bring the putter on numerous holes during the final, never gave me shit for a sub par short game.
@Ballgame and @NightTrainLane “the world knows”
@Tron attempting to intimidate me with backstopping allegations… for the record, everyone was 50+ yards behind and we were chasing day light trying to keep pace. JCO’s ball was never a thought, trying to leave the chip short of the green/hole. No, I did not scull the fucker actually landing it where I wanted, doesn’t happen often with my short hame, got a shitting bounce kicking it hard forward. Yes, made the putt but left the next 3 birdie putts short so all is even with rub of the green. Tell Hitter Blanco and the rules committee to get their stop watches ready, gunning for the first slow play penalty in NIT history next year!
And since he would be pissed if I didn’t @ him @jimithng23, you were a very small part of making Saturday mornings round my favorite of the weekend!

Last weekend made work this week extremely hard. Was an absolute blast meeting so many golf sickos. The weekend was also way more than the golf for me!

Never be sorry - that was so sick!

not pissed, thanks for the kind (?) words I think

It was a fun round, wish I could have mixed in some good golf with the fun though.

A teaser. More to come…

Already walking the winner’s walk by hole 5.

Reflecting more on the NIT, I still think it was absolutely fantastic. However, one tiny regret I had was not dragging my trombone out of storage having been sitting dormant for over a decade to belt out an embarrassingly poor rendition of The Star Spangled Banner for all the guise.

Many didn’t even know they were missing out on this possibility.

Here’s a taste of what 10ish years away and an arpeggio warm-up produced tonight:
