haha thank you! I love the song, feel like I shoot around that often, and in the process feels like I write down about 96 of them so felt fitting all around.

Had this in my head earlier, but it was only the bass line, and Iām terrible with lyrics so it took me a solid 20 minutes of looking at similar songs and songs of the genre to find it.
Tell me you listened to Mike Jones without directly telling me you listened to Mike Jonesā¦

Hit Mike Jones up on the low cause Mike Jones about to blow!
Itās Friday of a long weekend & when I walked out onto my balcony this morning, it wasnāt hot as fuck. Thatās enough to get that Friday feeling - this, I believe, is a #vibe.
Debut LP āComing Downā by Charlotte pop-punk/fourth (fifth?) wave emo band Jail Socks is out today. I have not had time to listen to it yet, but the band slaps, and I highly recommend their 2019 EP āItās Not Foreverā if you are a fan of pop-punk/emo. Hereās the closing track on that EP:
Please pardon this interruption from pop punk for the newest single from my former student and athlete:
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
Saw them opening up for two other acts in 2019. Seeing them again in November in Portland. Very excited

This has been an earworm for me the past few days. Loving the new album!
Sorry, Iāve been away for a while. But Iām glad you enjoyed Ovlov. One of my goals is to make as many Ovlov fans as I can, so maybe theyāll record more. Their catalog isnāt all that deep, but it thereās some more gems before Tru. If you dig the sludgy stuff, you probably know Dinosaur Jr. But if you donātā¦
I just watched a video on the history of shoegaze, where the author draws an interesting line from proto-punk (New York Dolls, Stooges, Velvet Underground) to punk (Sonic Youth, Black Flag, Husker Du) to sludgier stuff like DJ to shoegaze and My Bloody Valentine. Interesting theory.

Been lurking with a lot of appreciation and thought Iād share one of my favorite new finds.
Ha! Love this description. Although some songs are more like the Strapped sensation of standing on the 13th tee realising youāre sitting on your best score⦠āMogwai Fear Satanā and āBattered at a Scrambleā for example. One of the best live bands youāll ever see.
Speaking of shoegaze, I finally had a chance to give the new Deafheaven album a couple listens and I thought it was actually great. I get that a lot of people wanted more hardcore tracks, but I think it has some of the prettiest shoegaze and post-rock that theyāve ever done. I think the highs definitely arenāt as high as previous albums, but itās a really nice change of pace album imo.
The new turnstile album is extremely good (TURNSTILE - BLACKOUT [OFFICIAL VIDEO] - YouTube)
