Music-adjacent, but the new season of the Dissect Podcast dropped last night and itâs on one of the best albums of all time, Yeezus.
Highly suggest this, or past seasons, if youâre into music sampling, music theory, or just want deeper understanding of albums as a whole.
I have listened to this at least 3-4 times today.
âoh, you got him going on about The Phish again did ya?â
Tonightâs Dinner and a Movie is a show I downloaded early in my fandom and is a great example of why I like the band. This also counts toward âworst songâ for the haters.

For the curious, tune in!
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Itâs Friday Junior and Mr. Jeezy was bumping on the way into work.
Since he is now stuck in my head (not the worst jam to have stuck in your head), I thought I would pass along the favor to kick start your day.
Thank you, Mr. Jeezy.
Well, this is a convenient category to find. My friends decided a week or so ago to use the March Madness time to create some brackets for the Best Songs of various decades. And then, when I was listening to one song (wonât say which since itâs part of the below) I decided to create a bracket for the WORST Song of the 1980s.
Iâve used this site, which does require a login but you can use your spam email address (which I assume everybody has) and they donât seem to actually do any marketing emails.

The idea is to choose the WORST song in each bracket, not your favorite. The brackets canât be named but they are in categories, as such:
- Death By Soundtrack (all these songs were notably featured in big soundtracks)
- Pop Disasters (these songs were VERY popular, and weâre all to blame for it)
- Good Band, Bad Song (great artists with epic fails)
- Who Could Possibly Say (the rest of the worst)
And if youâre not sure and brave enough to stomach it, check out the Spotify Playlist (which includes some also-rans): https://open.spotify.com/playlist/232Bjb2GDuj69FLMc5KmQ9?si=LjQB6bMgS2G_FqFIWYbSRw
Next level rap talent. Fight me.
Iâve been listening to SUGR? a lot. Has this Daft Punk/I donât know how but they found me/Killers vibe I really dig.
Been on a Midnight Oil kick of later. Forgot how much I like them.
Holy smokes, I havenât checked in on this thread in a couple of days and dropped in just now to post Beds are Burning and see you beat me to them already.
Freaky man, freaky.
So what the hellâŚ
I kind of buried the lede, because when I put them on my wife told me she loved Midnight Oil. First time we ever talked about them.
Beds are Burning absolutely bangs, I loved Diesel & Dust , and Blue Sky Mining. Kind of forgot about them as I got older.
Asked and answered.
Had to come back to this post done in jest. After hearing Mike Stone on the trap draw, it was truly refreshing to hear someone so passionate about their work. To have that amount of passion and self belief is inspiring and a brief reprieve from my work today.
The last 12 months have been a slog for many, if not all, of us. Let the positivity pierce your mind, body and soul
Midnight Oil were really good. And apparently the lead singer went into politics in Australia afterwards.
Yes. Peter Garrett. Had a couple of Minister positions.
Iâm gutted that I forgot to ask him about the backstory on his song âHey Little Personâ
