I don’t know anything about rap, but I actually thought Hot Shower was decent for like a minute and a half and then it lost me.

NPR had a discussion years ago, and this was the consensus worst song, of all time.
There may have been a caveat that the song had to be a ‘hit’ on some chart.
But its still the worst!

Few songs get me legitimately upset, Hot Shower is one of those songs though. It’s just so in your face bad that it’s unlistenable for me.
It’s disappointing how far Chance fell but the writing was kind of on the wall with Coloring Book. When All Night was one of the singles (A song I despise as well) I think it gave him inspiration to steer more towards the silly songs like Hot Shower and Groceries which he smartly chose to not include the latter on the album.

I fall into the trap often of listening to a bad song ironically and falling in love with it. This song here is the PRIME example of that. My friends and I used to play it in the car as a joke and then it became a normal part of playlist when drinking together. Minnesota is in no way a good song or even a ok one but I love it with all my heart.

I thought it was less about the song and more about what it represented from the band. Starting as Jefferson Airplane and being a rock band, then rebranding and coming out with that song was why people hated it so much. Felt like the ultimate sellout.

Can’t get there. The first few seconds made me think it was going to be huge and I was hyped, but doesn’t get me immediately. Decent though.
