If anyone is interested in a great concert film, my pals in Manchester Orchestra just dropped a great one last night. Itās their last album āA Black Mile To The Surfaceā played in a studio front to back with some pretty great production. They are releasing new music next week so this was āthe endā of that record so to speak.

When I started going through their collection in its entirety last week or so ago I was feeling somewhat optimistic for the announcement of a new album sometime soon. Or maybe a post pandemic tour.

Yeah Iām really dumbfounded as well and the way you said the above is spot on.
The movie clip is very fitting, Iāll give them that, but still this isnāt their typical level of wit/creativity. Kinda like if Banksy just spray painted a goodbye stencil and that was it.
Itās so jarring and so abrupt and the calculated part being left out entirely almost makes me wonder if something awful happened personally. To not have the time or energy to put into some elaborate goodbye? I obviously hope not, but just kinda lost on what else would make them just throw up that old clip from the movie and call it.
