A Turnstile movie is gonna be crazy someday
Behind The Music!
I love formentera II so I can’t get totally on board with this take but i’m like 10 listens in and man is it good. Top 3 album of theirs for sure.
The production and the storytelling in the songwriting make some of tracks hit so hard. Lots of introspective lyrics, feels like I’m listening to one of their early 2010s albums and a 2026 album at the same time.
100% agree with that. It reminded me a lot of Synthetica.

All acoustic set. She sat on a couch and played the whole show. Guy on guitar/harmonica and another on keyboard.
No phones allowed. Everyone was in such a good mood. No one being an idiot. No one shouted song requests. Felt like a fan club show or something. Super laid back and she sounded great. Everyone was friendly and was cool to talk to the people next to you. Just a lovely night.
If these style shows are a way for bigger artists to circumvent Ticketmaster/Live Nation and play smaller, intimate venues, I hope they do it as often as they can!
Im despondent over this Spotify Wrapped All-time thing. Very jealous of anyone with any significant history on the app. Too bad 15 years ago I was deep in the itunes game on a (not backed up) laptop.
Don’t worry, it’s not accurate due to missing history and dogshit AI. It said I joined Spotify November 2011 and somehow my first streamed song was July 2012.
For those of you who haven’t heard this yet

I can’t not hear the turnstile influence in this. Sounds just like the song Real Thing mixed with the band Webbed Wing. Not a bad thing, this is a jammer.
I really need to spend some time listening to Turnstile they are just a big blind spot for me also I think my wife would love a break from me jamming too much Angine de Poitrine
The moment it started I thought it was a Turnstile song.
My YouTube was fully algo bombed with AdP after watching one video.
Fortunately I already went through my math rock phase 100 years ago so was able to breeze through without ire from my wife.
I’ve dragged my wife to a couple shellac shows she always enjoyed the shows because she liked watching grumpy Steve albini answer questions from the crowd between songs
